  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey there

I was wondering about the subject of dating other christians and why some churches may be against. My theory about this is that maybe they think that we dont need to date but to trust in God to provide the right partner.

I am at an age where i would love the companionship of a woman and i am unsure wether its a good idea or worthwhile to link upto christian dating websites like fusion. I appled to fusion before but i felt that was a wrong decision so I deactivated my account.

Any advice or views would be great thanks :)

God Bless
Adam

There are churches that object to dating Christians? That's bizarre. Date whom you like. When it comes down to the decision about whether two people should be dating, there are exactly two people whose opinions matter in the slightest.

I would date only christian girls. I know copule that have had a non-christian and they becoming a christian but I feel it would be better to find a girl who is passionate about Jesus Christ aswell.

Lol its the hardest option and something that needs a great deal of faith but the results would be worth it than pursuing non christian girls

I tend to be of the firm opinion it is much more preferable to date Christian girls if circumstances allow. Some years back I badly came a cropper when I went out with a very forward girl, and things unfortunately went way to far, regrettably.

I do not understand when you said some churches were against dating Christian girls?

If I met up with a girl who did not go to church, and I could see that she had relatively high morals and I explained I was a strict Christian, and I really liked her, I might, if she had an interest in becoming a Christian consider going out with her, I would have to see how I felt about the situation. I am currently registered with the said ‘fusion 101’, and have no problem with this. There was a similar debate along these lines down in the couples room a few months back. The majority view point was unanimously in favour of both using a Christian dating site, and giving destiny a helping hand. This thing about sitting back and letting God sort things, in whatever scenario I think, can be carried to far. We have to do our part whether it is getting that job, doing our best in an exam, or trying to find a future spouse.
Good luck!

Some churches make a distinction between dating and courtship, dating is seen as casual and non-serious where as couples who court will tell you that from day 1 there was an intent to get married at some point in the future.
