Anyone eles a fan? Though there not my favorite, there close. I love the songs Vindicated and Saints and Sailors

Dashboard are great and a few of my friends are now getting into that sort of thing so its good to see my mates doing some really cool stuff and gotta love the emo fringe

I really like several of their songs, although the lyrics are terrible (at times, IMO). "Vindicated", the song that was on the Spiderman 2 movie has what I consider to be one of the worst lyrics that I have come across: "Hope, dangles on a string, like slow-spinning redemption, winding in and winding out."

I could be completely wrong, but that line just screams "fake!" I don't know...maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way.

I don't know, perhaps it just rubbed me the wrong way when I first heard it. Many bands write throwaway lyrics, and I don't expect anything else from them. This just seems like one of those lines where people would say, "Wow...they're deep." It's a failed attempt at making a somewhat abstract simile; however, it doesn't seem to say anything.

Amen. Some songwriters use lyrics like these without backing them up anywhere else in the song, and it irritates me so much! If you're going to use such lyrics, they have to be making a point or message which runs throughout the song. Read: the Manic Street Preachers - honest, philosophical, political lyrics with real depth and feeling. You can't put in these kinds of lyrics just because they're "clever"... you have to really mean it!
