The Sumerian culture had past it’s zenith over a thousand years before the Hebrew developed writing and the amount of similarity between Hebrew literature and the earlier Sumerian writings clearly shows that one was based upon the other.First and foremost one must remember the Sumerian gods were the enemy of the Hebrew Go
There is simply no evidence of a deathbed conversion.
Darwin's family have refuted several accounts, most famously the 'Lady Hope' story.
That one is so full of holes that even Answers In Genesis says "there are many inconsistencies that make the story untenable".
Meaning he didn't go to church, tithe, and worship God in spirit and in truth?
From his deathbed???
Yes, and the same thing happened in my family, with my sister swearing up and down that our father didn't get saved before he died, and despite the fact that I tried to tell her otherwise, she was so bitter towards him she went into denial mode.
My "Lady Hope story" to her fell on deaf ears.
Answers in Genesis partners with academia and, just like unbelievers, expects Darwin to have shown his conversion to the world by doing God knows what.
Building a church? writing a book? a song?
My dad didn't do any of that stuff and just quietly worshiped the LORD until he passed away, leaving all the naysayers to believe he died without Christ.

And Shem was right there as a viable eyewitness to sift the tares from the wheat in any Hebrew/Sumerian stories that didn't match up.
Real question AV: Does Darwin becoming a Christian on his deathbed really do anything to the theory of evolution?
Only on paper.
This paper was no ordinary paper.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
But if it's a no, then why do you keep bringing it up EVERY TIME evolution is talked about like it matters a thing?
I have my reasons.
In this case, FaithT said she thought Darwin was an atheist (at the time), and I agreed with her.
Then I interjected some good news into the conversation, and academia is going bananas.
If academia is right, Darwin is in Hell now.
If Lady Hope was right, Darwin is in Heaven now.
With friends like academia, who needs enemies!
An this impression helps explain why your comments about science rarely have any connection to reality.I'm getting the impression that one can say anything on a science final and get away with it.
And once again you ignore the testimony of Darwin's own family who knew the man much more than a woman who published her story over 30 years AFTER the man died,
... which isn't something suspect at all, and said that she was wrong and lying..
But we've been through this before;
... you don't care about that at all.
And once again; your insistence of calling anyone and everything that disagrees with you as being 'academia' is both telling and very sad.

I ignored it?
Is that why I compared it with my own father?
I know the story better than you do, since I experienced a similar one.
Just like my sister did.
If we have, I'm sure you tried so hard to make me look wrong, you ended up confusing everything.
If I don't care, why do I assume Darwin is in Heaven and academia assumes he's in Hell?
Oh, wait.
Academia doesn't recognize Hell per se, does it?
(Like that makes a difference with God.)
When people try to pwn the Bible with charts, graphs, formulas, theories, hypotheses, pictures drawn by hirelings, famous quotes by famous people, books, magazines, post-it notes and whatever ...
Ya ... they're academians.
What's that saying?
If it walks like a lame and talks like a lame ...
It's probably me since I seem to be "wrong" about everything else here. If you kind of combine the two (Sumerian stories of Enlil, Enki, the Igigi, the apkallu and the humans with the Books of Enoch (which alot of historians frown upon), you come up with how Eve was tricked by the serpent (Enki possibly?) and she and Adam ate from the Tree of Good and Evil (knowledge). And Enki creates the Apkallu to spread the knowledge of good and evil throughout the Earth.Hm. Enil wanted to destroy humanity and Enki wanted to save, nurture and teach humanity.
Who to venerate, I wonder…?
Hypothetically of course but one of us seems to be on the wrong page it everything discussed.
Thing is Enil wanted all the humans dead. Which would mean you were never born but Enki told Ziusudra (the inspiration for Noah) how to build a boat to save his family (just like Noah). So in my interpretation (and I'm not saying it is correct but it fits my world) Enki is the evil one and Enlil, well, Enlil is Enlil, just cranky and wants a little peace and quiet and he is a lesser god under the Hebrew God. And the Hebrew God (the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) is who I only venerate.

Doesn't sound very Satany......
When he wrote the theory, he was an Anglican Christian, so orthodox that the officers on the Beagle joked about it. Late in life, he said he was leaning toward agnosticism.I thought Darwin was an atheist.
Unfortunately, that's another of those stories found in AIG's list of "arguments we think creationists should not use."Good news though:
He converted on his deathbed.
I remember reading about it. It is interesting, and I wouldn’t mind your take on it. Some months ago, I pointed out on another thread that it was Julian Huxley, H. G. Wells and a few others who weaponized evolution against the church. I got hammered for that and was accused of being a troll. I wouldn’t mind your take on that too. When he wrote the theory, he was an Anglican Christian, so orthodox that the officers on the Beagle joked about it. It's a fake. Want to learn about it?
