Now you know why I had to put "evolution" in brackets.
Because you're making the Bible say something it very clearly does not say; you're adding to the Bible, which is outright against what the Bible says in Deuteronomy 4:2, Revelations 22:18 and Proverbs 30:5-6.
Either that, or I'm clarifying a term.
(And it's "Revelation," not "Revelations."
And than there are those of who walk both.Essentially, it's challenging one to walk by sight, not by faith.
No, you are right, and I'm not even sure where it comes from myself since it IS one long singular revelation not multiple different ones.
I'll bear that mind in the future so I don't flub it.
And than there are those of who walk both.
That wasn't the gist of my question. You posted as a rebuttal "you weren't there to see it first-hand". My question is if you really think we have to see things happen first-hand before we can study them.I'm really starting to wonder about your mindset. It seems very illogical at times in some of the questions you ask me. Here are objects (in space) millions of light years away and science is making statements about them as if the are very intimate with the objects. And what makes me question sciences assumptions about these object? JWST goes online and alot of the stuff science was making assumptions about are thrown out the window. Why? Because with JWST, they got a better look at the objects. So, imagine if they were standing right beside the object the more reliable assumptions they could make. So, they should stop making these far reaching assumptions from Earth and making them sound like they are really sure what they are talking about. They should be a little bit more cautious as to how they state things.
My question is if you really think we have to see things happen first-hand before we can study them.
Well ... unless you want to take it by faith that it happened.
Only if you don't accept that events in the past left evidence.
As long as you see legitimate footprints, I have no problem with that.
But when there are so many missing steps, and those steps are assumed to have been there at one time; well ...
Let's ask a simple question did hydrogen exist 2.4 billion years ago? That science is giving answers to questions that happened billions of years ago or millions of light years away - absolutely ridiculous. You could probably give good educated guesses but lets admit it, you weren't there to see it firsthand.
That is only a claim you can make despite everyone telling you that is not the case.
It's amazing how academia can see ape-to-man evolution, but can't see connections between:
1. the Bible
2. time divided into BC & AD
3. organizations such as the Red Cross and Salvation Army
4. hospitals built by Christian organizations
5. Christian artwork, edifices, statuary, and literature
6. IN GOD WE TRUST on our coins
7. UNDER GOD in our pledge of allegiance
8. the Ten Commandments and other literature displayed in public
9. Christmas & Easter
10. symbols on bumper stickers and flags
11. public debates in the name of Christianity
12. crosses and billboards erected to testify of Jesus Christ
13. two major nations founded on His existence
14. martyrs
15. Christians & Jews
... and the existence of God.
I love feeding baby bottles to baby goats at a farm near here. There are academians today who consider the Jews as "ancient goat-herding desert nomads".
And don't think they use the term "goat" just arbitrarily, when "sheep" would be more appropriate.
It has satanic connotations.
Why didn’t Jesus compare us to giraffes?Nice try.
Why didn't Jesus compare us to goats then?
Why did He prefer "sheep"?
In addition:
Mt 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
Mt 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
I’m a practicing Catholic too but believe in theistic evolution. You DO realize we’re allowed to believe in evolution and that many priests do, too, don’t you?Because you all have been asking me to "prove it" my reason for why I believe what I believe when all along I just solidly didn't believe in the theory of evolution. Unfortunately, you couldn't accept that as an answer. The stuff that the Barbarian and Warden of the Storm passed onto me was informative but it really once again just showed me how flimsy the theory of evolution is. I thank them for their kindness and time that they took to show me their side.
Look, I'm a staunch practicing Catholic. If you ask me about why I believe in God, I'll tell you but you can take my response however you want (accept, believe, stay neutral or reject). I'm not going to push it on you. If God wants you to see, He'll help open your eyes.
Why didn’t Jesus compare us to giraffes?
