CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We binge watched about half, then binge watched the other half about a week later... definitely can't wait for season 2!

Season 2 is sounding pretty awesome with bringing in Punisher. I thoroughly enjoyed both Daredevil and the Flash. Both are at the top for comic book TV in my book.

Did anyone start Season 2? I watched the first couple minutes and shut it off. Unfortunately the producers decided to have a guy shooting a few holy symbols in a church while fighting. I understand this character is symbolizing bad, but something in me feels I shouldn't be supporting a show where the producers would purposely destroy a holy symbol to tell a story.

I watched one episode and was like "Eh". I never really cared for Daredevil, though I liked the movie. I do like Elektra though.

So should I not feel guilty about watching the show with them breaking a statue and other things in the church scene in the beginning?

I wouldn't feel guilty. God knows its not something you were happy with. Now, if a tv show showed someone talking gibberish while standing on a bloody pentagram... then I'd probably care a bit more and might not watch it. I know with Grimm and X-Files they sometimes had things that I skipped because of the content.

Kinda of why I'm against holy symbols. Aren't we commanded not to have those sorts of images? No symbol, nothing to attack. That's how I look at it.
So I just finished S2 this week.
Wow.
Punisher was great. They cast the perfect actor to play him.

I sure can.
A symbol is an object. A thing. Even if it's supposed to represent a holy idea or figure/person, it's still just a hunk of wood, metal, or whatever it's made of. Destroying a holy object affects God exactly zero percent. And should affect our faith just as little.
The other side of it is if there is no symbol, there's nothing to destroy. You can destroy an object, but you can't destroy faith or God. So why be upset if a cross gets shot of someone burns a Bible?
