I mentioned that this is a prophetic figure of speech, like used in Revelation.
So in a spiritual sense.. Sacrifice was done by the Levitical Priests. But the believer offered up the best they had to God.
But today, Christians sacrifice their love and acceptable service to God.
The Lords Passover, which is called communion today is also symbolic of Christ sacrifice and He instructs Christians to take the unleavened bread and wine every Passover and Pentecost
(as often as they met).
Much Like Ezekiel 40- 48 is about The Lords Day yet uses animal sacrifice as a illustration for the spiritual. Since flesh and blood cannot inherent Gods Kingdom and all are changed at that time.
Likewise Daniel is using language that is symbolic the timeline and subject dictates its a illustration.
The Daily sacrifice in this sense then is faith in Christ. Which we live daily. Not just one day of the week or one day of the year. If belief is said to stop its because of the subject, Satan standing in the hearts of Christians claiming to be what he's not ( Christ is the temple ) But Satan will claim to be.
So daily sacrificed stopped in prophetic language, but in plain language its called The Great Apostasy 2 Thessalians 2.
- Anti in Greek means (instead of). So instead of Christ, first comes Satan claiming to be. This is all anti means. It can mean apposed if as individuals. But Satan himself being the subject matter, comes disguised as an angel of light. Specifically as Christ.
- Visually seeing is already explained, in Revelation 13. And 2 Thessalians 2. But the subject aims to warn the believer from apostasy, and the crux of the matter is the heart. The warning involves beliefs. Its already established Satan appears to the world with quite a show. But this is not the main focus of the entire teaching around it. But to avoid deception.
- There is no 3rd temple mentioned anywhere in scriptures. But Christ is the temple Satan wants to sit in, basically in the hearts and minds of the people he becomes head of Christians. And that is an abomination and idolotry and adultery in the highest degree.
Jerusalem is the geo location.
A genuine believer would be The Elect and they have to know what Gods word says. If they believe in mans words then they wont weather this storm. Rapture for example teaches they dont have to even worry about Revelation. Thus Gods word is supplanted by traditions of men and that teaching is very popular. It teaches all Christians to worship and fall before the first one that appears claiming to be Christ. And in this, most of the worlds Christians are deceived. And they were very well Christians. Up until that point. Revelation is clear. Christ is giving the warning to the churches. Are they listening? I think not. There is a reason Christ is very dire about this warning and revealing Revelation.
To go back and illustrate the figure or analogy Daniel used before,
Ezekiel 40-48 is during The Lords Day ( Rev 20 ).
There is no flesh and blood. Yet animal sacrifice is used as illustration;
for the Spiritual work The Elect do during this time of a thousand years tending to the people and work of God. So the mind must make the connection this is illustration and update it for the time its about. The Lords Day.

Ezekiel 28:16-19 is an allegory revealing Satan's humiliation. But I'm not sure it means he will be seen in a physical form, though I might be wrong.I think a better way to put it is the hierarchy of evil will be...
Satan, the beast, the false prophet.
The beast and the false prophet both get power from Satan to do different things.
At Jesus's return to stand on the Mt of Oiives directly across from the temple mount, where the beast and the false prophet will be, as well as the abomination of desolation statue image incarnated by Satan - the statue image will be turned to ashes and Satan will be exposed in his form for all to see him. I get that from Ezekiel 28:16-19.
If the False Prophet will become the Pope, how come scriptures say that believers will be persecuted by the Antichrist?I agree that the harlots is the Vatican. I also believe that the False Prophet will become pope while declaring the Antichrist and the Messiah returned.

Deafsilence, you're on the right track, however Antiochus IV Epiphanes completed his desecration of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem (and became the Abomination of Desolation) on December 25th, 167 BC (Julian calendar used at the time).
2300 Holy years (360 day years) later, on December 7th, 2101 the Holy Temple will be rebuilt in Jerusalem.

Well, Saints Paul, Matthew, Luke, John, Peter and John the Baptist all refer to the start of Daniel’s seventieth week. As for a reference to the entirety of the seventy weeks, we can point to how Jesus alludes to the Seventy Weeks in cryptic language.
The verse I am thinking of is when Peter asked Jesus how often should he forgive, then suggested what he thought was generous "Up to seven times," he posits.
"Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven." (Matthew 18:21-22)
Jesus answer was cryptic, but I think he was referring to the long era of forgiveness 490 years that God was giving his people Israel until he introduced his New Covenant. In other words, if it was good enough for God to wait seventy times seven, it is good enough for us to forgive seventy times seven too.
Surely Jesus had Daniel in mind when he made that statement.

So, the ‘fulness of the time’ (I think) refers to the seventy weeks coming to completion.

The midst of the week, where the daily oblation ceases, this is actually the second woe of Revelation. When Satan is here claiming to be Christ. Those verses are yet future. Symbolically, its in this sense this term is used "the daily sacrifice stops". Because instead of Christians worshiping Christ, they take their belief and faith to Satan thinking he is Christ. At the second woe, aka The Sixth Trump. Revelation 13, when the second beast ( Satan ) appears claiming to be the lamb slain. Paul taught this too 2 Thessalians 2
(the falling away aka apostasy).
This is that overspreading of abomination that makes desolate. Or the desolator upon wings brings desolation. Christ taught that in Matthew 24.
The whole of the tribulation of Satan was shortened by Christ for The Elects sake or no one would have salvation. ( no flesh saved ). Because Satan would be that convincing.
We get the exact timeline this was shortened to in Revelation 9. To Five Months. Daniel's original time could still apply only in the sense of its building, to that point.
But the actual woes, thus the tribulation itself of antichrist , are contained in a space of Five Months.
So the midst of the week is half way through Five Months Satan appears claiming to be Christ to the world. Its not long after this does Christ return actually after the two witnesses are put to death and resurrect.
As God is the divine Trinity, Satan too, (the copycat that he is) will too, have an evil trinity for himself. They are:

The Antichrist and False Prophet will be flesh and blood just like everyone else. But whereas the AC derives his power directly from Satan, the FP will, in turn, receive his power from the AC.

So, time has not ceased per se but the era of the “weeks” climaxed in Jesus first coming. That is not to say there is not a further block of time culminating in his second coming. Otherwise we would be preterists, which we are not.
