  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello, I am new here. I am actually the admin over at the #1 site for the phrase dance forums (forum rules prohibit posting url with less than 15 posts) and I saw your forum when I was searching google for dance forums.

Anyways, I thought I would mention a couple of things related to Christian acceptance of dancing.
1) The Southern Baptist Convention (finally) approved dancing sometime back in the late 80's. :)
2) The largest University ballroom dance program in the World is Brigham Young University. Their dance team wins awards all over the World, and they have a wonderful dance program.

Isn't that interesting the Southern Baptise Convention officially approved of dancing in the late 80s. You know back in those days we used to think a 200W speaker was loud. Then came these 500W speakers which seemed incredibly powerful. Now it's like I go to the radio store and see these little portables with massive sound. It's like things are getting louder and louder, ha-ha.

I actually came from a pretty traditional Catholic family that had nothing at all against dancing. I'm really happy that the act of dancing has been widely accepted since it is a form of expression with great history and the power to motivate young people.
