please read daniel 1:1-7
these are my thoughts please share yours
1 The kings of Judah tested the Lord's patience till they needed to be punished by the Lord's hand.
2 The Lord allow the temple to be destoryed but He also allowed it to be rebuilt when they would use it again. This did show who was true worshipers of the Lord and who wasn't. Judah was doing pegan worship before the exile those who did would not stop because they were forced to but those who worshipped God would refuse to worship a god.
3 The king had power over all the people he concored including the men of Israel.
4-5 The king wanted to train the people of Israel for miltary in so making the miltary stronger after every defeat. They were taught things of Babylon their whole history and ways would have to be held on to in private and times secret.
6 These 4 men were follows of the Lord and continue to follow Him even thru this hard time.
7 Their names were changed this shows that they are subject to the king and Babylon they names were changed for honoring God to honor babylon and their pegan gods.
