Daily common joys

Since there is a thread about pet peeves (a good place to vent about what bugs us!), I thought I'd start a thread on the little daily things that simply bring us joy. See, I'm a strong supporter of the belief that we need to stay focused on the good stuff too and sometimes it feels like it's kinda hard to find!

here are a few of mine:
* I LOVE the look a baby and small child gives to the people they love!
* it makes me smile to watch our kitten and one dog curl up and sleep together
* a full harvest moon takes my breath away
* answering the phone and hearing a friends voice say "I just wanted to see how you're doing" puts a smile on my face that is hard to beat.
* joy overtakes me when my husband looks at me and says "let's go to Lake Michigan and watch the sunset"

I'll probably add more later but what are the small things that bring you joy?

~ waking up early in the morning when the air is crisp and fresh

~ ladybugs landing on your hand

~ peonies

~ ice-cold water when you're thirsty

~ when strangers smile at you in the street

~ my user-title is actually a miniature list so I never take the little things for granted Jumping in puddles, blowing bubbles, chocolate, and changing into warm, dry socks after puddle-jumping

Will add more after other people have gone... don't want to be greedy

Yeah, when I hit rock bottom early in the year, Gregged had read my blog here, and he reminded me of the joy I initially wrote about. (Some of my early blog entries were just non-linear lists of everything wonderful.) So he pointed me back to those entries, and I never want to forget the small things that bring joy, so I put 'em somewhere I'd see them all the time

But I digress!

~ laughing out loud, from the tummy

~ butterflies

~ ice-cream

~ receiving an email or phone call from someone you love

~ finishing a new jewellery piece

~ driving

~ making daisy chains

~ discussing Christianity with atheists when it doesn't get all nasty and ugly

*a crackling fire on a cool night
* roasting marshmellows

laying my head on my soft pillow in my comfy bed...just makes me reflect on the whole day and how thankful and grateful I am that God is so good and no matter what that day brought...we can rejoice and be glad...and rest peacefully in Him.

*a clear view to a stunning sunrise or sunset
*a clear night when I can see the stars
*finding that perfect gift for someone

When my cat does what we call "tippy head". He gets this kinda goofy happy look on his face, tips his head right upside down and rests it on the ground, while purring loudly. If I talk baby talk to him he does it over and over again. He's such a ham. I love it when he does that.

This probably sounds cheesy, but I just get such a warm feeling whenever I see my husband's smile. Also his goofiness. He's always singing or saying or doing something silly that makes me laugh. It's just how he is. Half the time he doesn't even know how entertaining he is.
