• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello,

I researched a medicine out called cymbalta for depression and It sounded promising then all the meds combined thats used by many. I stated taking it a week ago not that I am depressed but the other things it also helps. the difference is it combines serotonin uptake plus norepinephine together and it works great also for, anxiety, sleep problems, and other problems that plagues the chemicals in our brain. it cuts appetite, inflamation, the back is more straight, the negative thoughts aren't constant in depression at least as i can go by. its delayed release starting at 30 mg and 2 week 60...............

the bible cure.......
:preach:
in Daniel 4v36 NEBUCHADNEZZAR was struck with madness for 7 years as God said it. after his time was up he
was humbled, chastened and RESTORED. HIS SANITY WAS RESTORED as quickly as it came upon him by God almighty. before, his sanity, he refused to praise or honor the king of heaven. a woman wrote in to a study in theword and after bouts of depression and useless drugs, the lord revealed to her this verse and instantly she was healed because of what Jesus did on the cross on our behalf. we limit The Lord because of our unbelief and discouragement. and unbelief is what kept the children of israel in the desert 40 years wandering though God fed them and proved his power to do what he said he would do. read the mercy and patience of our God. i believe i psalm 78. longsuffering and just. :prayer: faith in the finished work of Christ at the cross is all you need. focus on that thought and not on self. because he is coming at any moment and satan wants you to not look for him at any moment. overnight, our world can change because everything is in place.even cashless is ready and we are being dulled down in blindness while the world watches in amazement.......lets examine ourselves and our hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal our hidden side within and confess it by acknowledging it and he will cleanse it from you that instant. he's taking me through it now. :amen: DEB~

Hey hey. I've been on Cymbalta/Duloxetine now for 5 weeks and it is the best one i;ve been on so far. (i;ve tried 3 others) My last one was an SNRI too (mirtazepine) ..but i got lots of side effects. The thing i like with Cymbalta is that i don't sleep ALL the time and i don't ALWAYS feel hungry.

thanks Katylee for that info. its a week for me and maybe it will help my severe insomnia. i've been up for days and sleeping meds don't always work. i have sleep apnea too and i'm tired of doctors adding another disorder to the list. i'm not depressed but meds over the years have made me unbalanced at times and you can't always kick out of feeling low. you just can't.

i've never heard of anyone else mentioning this but I forgot to say please don't take my advice saints but research it and talk to your doctor about it. I did not stress that point like i should of. i won't be on it long because adderall i sometimes take makes me feel like my brain chemicals tee-totters back and forth. and i ramble :sorry: those darn side effects, huh! keep me posted katylee if you think of it.
it cuts my appetite too! ......i need a adhd story from jonathan to laugh. DEB~

I had taken Cymballta for approx. one year. I did have side effects that I found bothersome once my dosage was upped from the initial 30mg. The side effects were severe sweating, my libido was very low, and sex was not enjoyable. I did not find that it decreased my appetite at all. I had been put on it because of chronic pain in my arms and upper back and it really worked well. However, at some point I really felt as if God wanted me to trust in Him and so I weaned myself off of it. At first I asked the doctor to lower my dosage because the side effects were really bothering me and so he did. Then once on the original dosage I was able to stop them at any time. It got me through a very difficult situation since the pain I was in was causing depression and I couldn't carry my baby anymore because my arms were immobile.
The trusting in God part was because the pain could have came back once I went off of the pills. Praise God, He was right!!!! No more pain!!!!
