  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So tomorrow is Cyber Monday and unlike Black Friday you dont have to get up at 12am out of your nice warm bed... You can stay IN your nice warm bed. lol So anyone plan on doing a bit of online shopping?

If you have shopped online before on cyber monday is the deals worth it as opposed to online shopping any other day?

I'm looking to see if there are good deals on things I already need, but I'm generally not a big Black Friday or Cyber Monday person.

The deals can be very good. I remember last year (when I was in need of a new laptop) that there were some very good deals on good laptops for Cyber Monday.

I got some things for my nieces and nephew last year on Cyber Monday and I found some good deals with free shipping. I'll probably see what is out there tomorrow for the members of my family that are far away. It's worth it to me to get something at a good price and free shipping to their house so I don't have to bother with shipping it myself. Also I have a gift card to a store and I'll check out some clothes I've been looking at. If the prices are a discount from what they normally are then I might can get them for free with free shipping.

I've been scoping out the deals. There are some really good ones on Barnes and Noble on dvds. But I gotta say, the only thing that is prob a good deal at amazon is the toys on sale.

SeaCrickets, up to 60 percent off on sweaters at Amazon. :)

Nope, my family's decided that we're going to devote our holiday time to being with family and doing charity/volunteer work instead of buying gifts :) I hope it's a trend we can continue permanently. More and more over recent years, I felt convicted about all the general holiday hubbub, and I felt like I didn't have the TIME I wanted to focus on meditating on the real reason of the holiday, which of course is Christ's birth. I also thought, there are SO many people in need, especially at this time of year, why am I running around shopping and trying to attend all these events when I could be working with the homeless or the hungry, who really need me? I'm not trying to bash holiday shopping, don't get me wrong :) Just responding to the thread, cause left and right all I'm hearing about for the past week is shopping, shopping, shopping. And maybe someone else will be inspired to spend less and give more, and that would be great.
