  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Where have you found cute stuff for your baby? Where do you plan to shop or register when you start buying things?

A friend of a friend of mine started her own business making diaper/stroller bags, changing pads, paci clips, burpees...etc. They are all adorable and you can get them monogramed which is awesome! I just gave one as a shower gift and not only did she love it but everyone at the shower wanted her name. I plan on buying at least two bags because they are just so cool. You can check it out here: http://www.lilybellaboutique.com/ . I also love Babies R Us they have such a huge selection of eveyrthing!

I had a lot of fun shopping last time, but I didn't buy anything monogrammed or with a name because I knew I was planning to have more than one child and wanted to reuse the baby stuff. I love my baby bag though, its a nice black one that doesn't look like a classic baby bag. I liked Babies R Us when I lived in Minnesota. I did notice that everything in there was overpriced, so its really a good idea to go there for fun and then go somewhere else to actually buy the stuff. :D I sat in all of their glider chairs and then bought one somewhere else for a hundred dollars less, and its good quality too. If you have a store called K's Merchandise, they have good prices for their baby furniture and layette sets although its not as "pretty" inside the store. For baby clothes, Target is a good place to go, or Carters outlet (its a brand name of baby clothing?). I also love Osh Kosh for really solid pants that last. Have you thought about a sling? You could get one of the http://www.hotslings.com/ or http://www.sproutpouch.com/storefront.php well okay really so there's a lot of cool websites for different types, if you're interested I can share. The only thing I plan to buy for this baby is some more cloth diapers and if its a girl, clothes. If its a boy, one take home outfit otherwise I have a lot of boy clothes.

I love the slings and I have actually planned to get at least a couple. I saw them a couple years ago and thought they were so fun!

Babies R Us is a bit higher but they do have more of a selection in furniture, bounces, swings, and play yards. We don't have many baby stores here other than Walmart and Target, the larger department stores just don't have a good selection. I'm planning to get my bedding online and my furniture either online or at Babies R Us. I have never heard of that K Merchandise you're talking about, we don't have anything like that here that I know of.

Most of the baby cloths I got are garage sale finds. In the more well off neighbourhoods I was able to find tons of stuff from Old Navy, Gap etc is amazingly good condition. I also got tons of cloths, blankets, sheets, towels etc from my baby shower, most of them were bought at Kohls.

I'm picky about clothes for my kids, since everything has to get passed down. My favs are Hanna Andersson http://www.hannaandersson.com/home.asp , Gymboree, and Gap. They all have Fabulous sales, and you can get all of them off Ebay (as well as resell them on Ebay when you're done they're such good quality). :)

I also like Echo Field http://www.echofield.com/ These outfits are so cute! And the price is pretty darn good. They're WAHM made. :)

And for soft shoes, I like http://www.natural-instinct.com/ They carry Jack & Lily brand soft shoes (which are very good quality), and Robeez soft shoes are even better quality http://www.robeez.com/ .

I love all those links you posted - they are my favorites (not that I can afford them--my Robeez are on their third kid!)

But I had never seen Echo Field---that stuff is great and cheap!! I will probably get those velour dresses for my girls for Christmas --I mean $15.00

I looked and K's Merchandise and I guess its a midwest thing. They have baby furniture.

Here are a couple more sling sites that I liked... there are like a million types so its tough to choose

http://www.goo-ga.com/
http://kangarookorner.com/
http://meitaibaby.com/ (awesome, going out of business because she wants to do more creative things)
http://www.kozycarrier.homestead.com/ (these are like a mei tai if you can't get in before they close)
http://www.mayawrap.com/p_mwpouch.php

I'm getting a ring sling and a mei tai (but not from the actual mei tai lady)
