it sure is hard getting used to crying again. cutting was so quick and instantly worked. crying can go on forever. I gave up cutting for good-I'll never go back. I gave it up to God. But I just wanted to comment on how much crying sucks! Cutting is so the easy way out. The easy way out of bad emotions. I hate feeling bad emotions. But God is worth it all.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. God loves the sparrows
Cutting is much easier than dealing with emotions. That's why I'd do it - to forget, to feel the emotional pain in a way which is easier to deal with; physically.
I'm 13 days cut-free and don't intend to go back, even though the urge to do so is sometimes very great. But it gets me nowhere when I do it. I feel worse and I have even more scars. Whereas if I just stick out the pain for a bit longer, and learn some decent ways to cope, in the future I might be happier.
*Hugs* crying sucks, but if you get it all out and deal with stuff, hopefully you can be happier in the future.
God is definitely worth it all, and so are you.

Good job on the 13 days!!! You can do it!! Whenever I get tempted I just spend time with God. I pray, praise and read the Bible and such.-It works. God can really change your thoughts to something positive. And being cut-free makes me feel a lot better about myself. I'm not so ashamed anymore.
