  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Does anybody know of a place where you can actually get your own bible custom made? I mean it's ridiculous the amount of bibles that are out there that just isn't what I want. Maybe I'm just picky lol, but I would like to find a study parallel bible NKJV/Message with a cross reference and words of christ in red. Bonded leather black slimline style but I cannot find it.

Can you help?

Slimline style usually doesn't have study notes. You need small print and thin paper just to include the text of one translation. I just don't think everything you want can be packed into a slimline format with type big enough for a person with 20/20 vision to read without a magnifying glass.

I have a full page magnifier works well. I don't have 20/20 so I need that for the real small stuff. :)

I don't think there's any custom Bible publishing service out there--it wouldn't be cost effective enough to create and produce for only a single volume. However, you might find a publisher willing to do a custom job for a VERY, VERY, VERY expensive price.

If you're willing to go the electronic route, use a laptop, or get a tablet, or an ultra-portable if you want it light. Then install any of the number of Bible software, like e-sword that's free, and you can load all sorts of different Bible translations, commentaries, notes, concordance, etc. onto it. e-sword will even allow you to select up to 4 translations for parallel comparison, although I think the NIV translations is not free. With a touchscreen tablet, you can even "write" your notes onto it.

Thanks guys. Even if it's not slimline thats fine but if it can atleast be both versions with a cross reference. Any custom bible publishers out there, can't find any online.
Thanks again for ya'lls replies.
Why don't you try e-sword or something like that?

Else the only thing I can think up is a 3 ring binder, a word processor and hard work. I have created my personal planner that way (just sear diy planner). But a Bible looks like a huge project.

This blogger posts a lot about rebinding Bibles:
http://jmarkbertrand.typepad.com/bibledesign/

A self-made custom Bible can be done.

You'd make in MS Word or something like that, get it just right, take it to a good printers and then send it to a book binder.

It would be a lot of work. I've thought of doing something like that.

You'd probably ahve to develope your own study notes ;)

But seriously, it is doable.

You'd be skirting copyright law, but as a one-off project, I'd have no qualms, but that's just me.

The blogger I posted above, on his blog, in the links on the right side, about 3/4 down are a number of binderys.

If you register for free on LuLu.com, you can find free webspace for creating and hosting your "little" project.
