custody and kids

I am a student currently working on a dissertation about how the custody of children is decided in Britain and the effects it has on the children involved.



If you have been in this situation, what were your experiences? How do you feel the children coped? Do you see your kids and if not who decided that?

I went thru a messy divorce several years ago and in the process, the custody of my daughter was given to her mom. The biggest reason for this was cause my job required me to travel alot of the time and I just couldn't be a single parent and be there all the time to raise her. I really wanted custody, but being gone 6 days out of 7 on work assignments was too much. I pay regular child support so that the ex doesn't get nasty. Hope this helps.
