CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

God and Christ's name should not be invoked frivolously. Damning people or telling them to go to hell is being hateful and judgemental and a display of hubris since only God has the authority to decide who will/will not enter heaven.
Calling people rude and vulgar names in order to hurt their feelings and/or provoke them is also a sin.
Violating social custom just to selfishly enjoy the discomfort it inflicts on others is also a sin.
Some words are acceptable in some situations and not in others. Language one might use while engaged in intimate relations with a spouse may not be appropriate in front of a room full of first graders.

What if one curses for none of the above reasons?
When I hit things with my car, which has happened all too often, bad words pop out of my mouth. It's not directed at the other driver and inanimate objects have no feelings to injure. It's just an expression of shock and dismay. I don't see a sin with that.

Basically saying mean things to people is obviously wrong so you know when you do it you are sinning before God. Better just stay quiet if you think badly of someone than to tell it to their face.

I don't really think all cussing is really sinful, The Lords name in vain I do think is.
I think the rest are mainly just unprofessional, and at times make the person using them appear ignorant, and uneducated.
