If the foundational doctrine of the WoF concerns the enacting of God's promises in one's life--and since God is always faithful unto his Word--then what is the cause of some Christians not receiving their blessings through these promises?

One explanation I've been researching is the presence of the generational curse. Larry Huch, husband and pastor to Tiz who I mentioned in my previous post to this section of the forum, describes the condition as follows:

"The world says it like this, 'Like father like son.' The Word says it like this, 'The iniquity of the father passes on from generation to generation.' Many times we translate the word “iniquity” as “sin.” But it’s not the sin that passes on from generation to generation. It’s the curse, the penalty. A curse is a spirit that passes from generation to generation until someone finally figures out how to stop it in Jesus’ name (The Voice).

Have any of you had to overcome such an unfortunate inheritance in your WoF experiences?

In Christ, we are a new creation, one that never existed before. Simple. :)

KJV: II Corinthians 5:17. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

as Andreha said... we are new creations.... everything is new.... PLUS JESUS became a curse for us.... so ALL curses of any type have been.... thoroughly.... permanently.... dealt with.... by the blood of JESUS....

the only thing that ALLOWS believers to EXPERIENCE any type of curse.... is their lack of knowledge of GOD'S WORD/promises..... and lack of knowledge of GOD'S will.... (HIS WORD/promises defines HIS will).... the devil will try to devour anyone he can....

BUT if you know your GOD.... and you know HIS WORD.... and you do the BASICS.... mentioned in your BASICS thread.... you will be one who comes OUT from any effects of any type of curse....

my testimony of how i came out of suffering is here.... http://www.christianforums.com/t7638644/#post59972872

dkbwarrior's testimony is here.... http://www.christianforums.com/t7640622-2/#post60027751

i will try to find the testimonies of other wof.... BUT.... for all of us it goes back to the BASICS.... as you called it in your first thread on this forum.... http://www.christianforums.com/t7659365/#post60594829

one common mistake believers make is to.... "create" doctrine from experience.... rather than "create" doctrine from the WORD....

experience says that many christians do not have what is promised in the WORD.... so they mistakenly take that to mean that..... GOD'S promises are NOT for everyone.... then they run down all kinds of strange "theological" rabbit trails.... trying to explain away GOD'S promises.... they study the "curses" looking for clues.... a very gloomy and confusing study for the most part....

wof take GOD'S promises/BLESSINGS at face value.... if the WORD says it.... it MUST be TRUE.... so wof seek GOD.... and a "rightly-divided" understanding of the promises/BLESSINGS.... so that they CAN obtain HIS promises... in ALL areas.....

the "BASICS" (as you rightly called them).... are the way to change ANY circumstance..... and FORCE it to match GOD'S WORD/promises.....

or another way to put it is that..... some christians run down theological rabbit trails studying "curses".... trying to understand the "limits" to GOD'S goodness..... and..... wof study the blessings/promises.... looking to receive GOD'S "limitless" goodness in everyway possible....

most christian "theology" is about..... trying to navigate mysterious sovereign GOD'S strange unfathomable waters.... "if it be thy will" is their catch-all phrase....

wof "theology".... is mostly about learning/ knowing GOD'S will.... and using HIS authority and power.... via speaking HIS WORD.... in faith.... to dominate circumstances.... so that we are "blessed to be a blessing"....

see our sof.... http://www.christianforums.com/t7586769/#post58360133 .... to see what we believe.... and what scriptures we base our beliefs on.... a very bright and positive study.... on what GOD wants for us ALL.... and has PROVIDED for us ALL....

2 Timothy 2:15 King James Version (KJV)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

There was a study done on two families that traced the ancestors for several generations. One family were heathens and the other family were Christians. I have a copy of it somewhere, but if anyone knows the story I'm talking about, please share the link. If I find it, I'll repost. It was facinating.

My additions and thoughts in blue:

as Andreha said... we are new creations.... everything is new.... PLUS JESUS became a curse for us.... so ALL curses of any type have been.... thoroughly.... permanently.... dealt with.... by the blood of JESUS....
"ALL curses ... have been .... dealt with...." for the believer.

the only thing that ALLOWS believers to EXPERIENCE any type of curse.... is their lack of knowledge of GOD'S WORD/promises..... and lack of knowledge of GOD'S will.... (HIS WORD/promises defines HIS will).... the devil will try to devour anyone he can....
...which causes them to willfully walk in the curse. When we willfully step out of the blessing and into the curse we subjegate ourselves to the effects of the curse.
Psalm 91:1, 4
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

Psalm 15:1-2
Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle?
Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
2 He who walks uprightly,
And works righteousness,
And speaks the truth in his heart;

Deuteronomy 30:19
19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
You choose blessing or cursing. Further, to the OP question, note that you should choose life: so that both you and your descendants may live. Now I ask, what if one chose the curse/death....what of the descendants? They generationally inherit the curse.

To this note though, I have to add that I am not a fan of the modern "generational curse" teachings nor the "possessed items" teachings. There are a few places where the bible talks of curses or iniquities staying until the third or forth generation. I see nothing about an "unlimited" generation; but then repentence is the key to removing the curse from one's life.

Seek God's will. Seek His righteousness in your walk. When you find that you've taken a bad turn, repent (ie: turn around) and get back on track, under His wing, in His shadow, in His blessing.

Interesting. The experience that I related in my basics thread, just as you noted, attests to this reasoning. Scripture affirms that the Lord does not produce a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a mind of abiding calm, yet fear as manifest through my anxiety was precisely what I was still struggling with even after finding Christ. It wasn't until I actively recited a biblical passage--constituting the Word and therefore His promises--that I was able to push against that unproductive state of mind. I couldn't renew my mind until I claimed my right as a believer to have that renewal. Similarly, you, HSWOF2, from your testimony weren't able to overcome your suffering until you stopped fighting against the means of your deliverance and began allowing the teachings on the promises to take root...

...which is a phenomenon I suppose we can substantiate through the concept of free will. God, despite his infinite love and concern for our well being, will not force anything upon us. We must open ourselves to the spirit and the Word willingly. Promise recitation does exactly that.

BUT if you know your GOD.... and you know HIS WORD.... and you do the BASICS.... mentioned in your BASICS thread.... you will be one who comes OUT from any effects of any type of curse....

my testimony of how i came out of suffering is here....

dkbwarrior's testimony is here....

i will try to find the testimonies of other wof.... BUT.... for all of us it goes back to the BASICS.... as you called it in your first thread on this forum....

:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

Many thanks for your encouragement and testimony (as well as the testimony of dkbwarrior) HSWOF2, and thanks to you Andreha for giving me a simple and effective logic for interpreting what I brought to the forum's attention.

And of course many thanks to each of you for taking the time to disperse my confusion!

There is no such thing as a generational curse.

The only thing that gets passed down are words of fear.
Our tongue holds life or death,people speak sickness into their children being ignorant of Christ redeeming of us from the curse of the law.

The curse contained sicknesses and disease.

How in the world could a curse thrive in the body of a Christian that dwells the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead?
Only by permission and lack of faith.
