  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I played Mario Cart DS today. And I started to play Animal Crossing DS, but my battery was low, and Animal Crossing is kinda boring. Mario Cart is good though.

question for all you Xbox 360 owners, I have been thinking about getting one but a friend of mine has one and has had to send it in to get it fixed twice in one year. He has also had to rebuy some of his games because the 360 melted them. Any one else had these problems. The 360 has some really good games that i would like to play but I dont know if it is worth buying one?

I got a PS3 (and a Wii ) for the very reasons you mentioned. In a year and a half, it hasn't broken down yet. It's a better built system.

If you're worried about games, most of the great games on the 360 are also on the PS3 (and vice-versa). I'm completely happy with the PS3.

You might also be interested to know that my favourite console is the Sega Saturn. It gets more video game play then both my PS3 and my Wii (well... the Wii does get a lot of use playing PC Engine(Japanese Turbografx-16) games that I keep downloading). Having the Saturn hooked up to my bedroom TV probably has a lot to do with it.

If you count the media functions of the PS3, then it does get used the most. I used it to play my mp3, view photos, watch youtube, and watch a lot of the videos I've downloaded on my computer (currently a lot of Desperate Housewives with my wife). Having a 320GB hard drive helps.

My most active games at the moment are Final Fantasy III on DS and Rallisport Challenge 2 for the (original) Xbox.

I'm having a lot of fun playing FFIII. The DS re-make graphics are great, and I love the job system. FFIII is where the Final Fantasy series really starts to come together in a good way, in my opinion. I'm having a lot more fun with it than I did with FF or FFII. It really shows you where they got the inspiration for Final Fantasy Tactics. Sometimes I wish they'd made the job/skill system in FFIII more like they did with Tactics later on, for instance, you can't use a previous job skill during the time that you specialize in another job, as opposed to being able to put a previous job skill set in your secondary skill slot in Tactics. However, once you earn the job levels for a particular job, you don't lose them if you change, and you can change back to a previous job relatively easily with no permanent penalty.

Rallisport Challenge 2 has been my first serious foray into rally racing. I've never been good at racing games (or any type of game, really), and I'm far from being an expert, but it's a lot of fun, but not just that. Rallisport Challenge 2 is a truly beautiful game with awesome scenery, just the right amount of great jumps, great camera angles for power slides, and is delightfully accessible right at the beginning without sacrificing challenge in the latter races. I think I may have really found a gaming niche for myself, if I can stick with it, not because I'm all that great at it right now, but because it's a competitive, widely played game type that I really enjoy playing, for a change.

Be aware that the $199 Xbox does not have a hard drive and the only after market hard drive I was able to find was $150. Not too much of a savings...

Add the fact that my brother bought me WoW for my birthday and I haven't turned the console on since then and I'm looking at $350 collecting dust right now.
