Greetings, my friends! Long time, no write. I've been recovering from an extended case of post-seminary final/termpaperitis, a serious condition affecting the body and soul. Anyway, I think I'm basically well, at least relatively speaking.
Anyway, I am really excited about something...(I hope I can post this without offending anyone, as it is a non-profit, outreach thing, and not a plea for your cash). I just received word that St. John's Orthodox Church, who commissioned the Cross Culture Project CD, has decided to begin screeneing musicians for a volume II. If you are Orthodox and like music of varying types, this is exciting.
If anyone would like to submit a song for the disc, or pass the info along to a friend, please do. Just go to www.saintromanosrecords.com and you'll see the information right on the front page. If you don't know what the first volume is about, you may also find that information at the same website.
Otherwise, all is well, life is good, and I'm preparing to hit the road for a summer tour. Glory to God. Hope to see some of you out there.

Hi Peter Jon,
Great to have you back with us. I'm happy to hear about Volume II, and although I liked Volume I, I sincerely hope that there is improvement on the present project, as number 1 left me feeling, well... a little underwhelmed.
I sincerely hope that you can talk Fr, John Oliver into doing something, as well as Fr. Jonathan Cholcher from St. Nicholas into doing some things as both are very talented musicians/songwriters!
Under His Mercy,
Eusebios.

I saw that you need to submit a "quality" recording... I have the ability to record on my computer, but it's not really "studio" quality. Do they take the demo you send and put it on the disc, or do they decide based on the demo, and then have you record it in a studio?

Moses

PS- can the songs be "silly"?

Hello, everyone!
Thank you for the well-wishings, feedback, and questions. My family is well Matrona, thank God. My kids are huge. Kristina is beautiful as ever, and keeping me in line. :)
Eusebius, I totally understand your frustration with Vol I and appreciate your honesty more than you know. We will have more recordings to choose from this time around, and I will keep your words close to heart.
"I sincerely hope that you can talk Fr, John Oliver into doing something, as well as Fr. Jonathan Cholcher from St. Nicholas"
I've been working on Fr John for another contribution (actually trying to get him to do an entire CD himself), and I do not know of Fr Jonathan, though I will contact him now that I know. Thank you!
And Moses, yes, songs may be silly (like "Dave Gapinski" on Vol I). If you send a low-quality recording that is a great tune, and if it is selected to be included, you may be asked to re-record it for the final product.
Please tell your friends! As you may know, proceeds from sale of the disc go toward Orthodox outreach and evangelism endeavors on American soil.
God bless!
