  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Row 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of next 6 ch, *3 sc in next ch, 1 sc in each of 7 ch, skip 2 ch, 1 sc in each of next 7 ch; repeat from *, end last repeat 1 sc in each of 6 ch, skip 1 ch, 1 sc in last ch.

Row 2: Turn, skip first st, *1 sc in back of loop of each 7 sts, 3 sc in back loop of next st, 1 sc in back loop of each of next 7 sts, skip 2 sts; repeat from *, end last repeat 1 sc in back loop of each of 6 sts, skip 1 st, 1 sc in back loop of last st.

I've only made one or two ripple afghans, a baby one is the only one I can think of. It was fun, but took a while, as it was a bit fancy patterned, not the normal simple ripple.

My favorite afghan at home is one one of my Grandma's made and it's a ripple. It's so warm and yummy. It's had to be mended with other yarn over the years, as it is at least as old as I am, if not older. :D
