CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Lord has been largely silent in this matter, so I suppose it doesn't matter much. I've heard it argued that a full bodied burial is preferred because they want an existing body during the resurrection. Yet, people's bodies return to the dust anyway. And when they prep your body for burial, they remove all the fluids and replace it with a preservative, sew your eyelids, mouth and nose shut, etc. Sort or morbid, but what I'm getting at is that it would take an amazing miracle at some level to restore your body during the resurrection anyway.

If that's what you prefer then go for it. It doesn't matter what happens to our physical bodies when we die as we will be given new, imperishable bodies for eternity. I'm going to leave the decision of what to do with my physical body to my family. If they want a grave to visit, fine. If they want my ashes in an urn, fine. It's entirely up to them.

Why should they decide about my last rites? They may be either forced or obligated to go by the typical norms of the society that may burden them. They may dislike that kind of procedure in their hearts in the first place!

Why should you decide for them? Not to be facetious but it won't matter to you after you're dead. Maybe they won't like your decision! Are they really going to decide because of what society expects of them? I want my family to be at peace with my remains (or lack thereof) and that can only be done by going with their decision, not mine.

In my last will, I have a provision that I will trust in the mercy of the Church and the State to bury me. If I am buried, it will be in a potter's field, anyway, unless some "angel" finds a place for me in a Catholic burial plot.

However, if I am cremated, I will trust that God, who has numbered my hairs and counted my tears will be able to reconstruct my body from its constituent parts/ molecules/ atoms for it to be glorified.
