Creative Writing at uni

I am intersted in studying this at uni, but i'm not a massive reader, which i know is very important for english, but is it still for creative writing does any one know? any info on what its like to study more in depth than school level would be greatly appreciated!! thanks

well, the more you read the better idea of what works and what doesn't you get. you don't just read for the story, you read for the way sentences are structured, characters are described and developed, settings it's placed in, and how dialogue is carried out.

I am currently taking a creative writing class at my high school. I don't know if Uni is a highschool or a college, but I can tell you, my class is NO ENGLISH CLASS!!! Basically all we do is write, read and critique each other's creative short stories. It is a LOT of fun! And I HATE TO READ!!!!!!!
