  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Creative ways to pay for school

Hello!

School started on Monday and I'm so happy to be back because for the last few weeks I've been bored out of my mind. Meanwhile, I'm beginning to have anxiety about paying for the rest of my years at university since I'm going it alone. I work about 32 hours a week at a little over $9 and hour and will be looking for a more school friendly job soon. What are some ways in addition to a job that you've been able to pay for college?

It was cool too because I prayed and told God I was worried, and then it seemed like right after I prayed I started finding pocket change everywhere in my house.....^_^

I took a pottery course and made a bunch of stuff to sell and I set up a table at a family day at the park event and I used one of those card readers you hook up to your cell phone so i could take cash purchases as well as credit/debit and I made $250 that day. I hope to do the same when I'm back. The supply cost for everything I sold that day was probably only $10 so I made a profit.

I write the notes from the lectures for two of my fellow disabled students at uni.

I was asked to do this for a friend too  I just decided to give him my notes though- although looking bad I should have had the university pay me (it would have at least covered gas money :D).

Most college campuses have a place where you can sign up for a job on campus, so I would check them out too.

I wouldn't have found out all of their names otherwise. I now type the notes for three:
