I have a qestion for everyone, i just watched a small movie that RCC posted in a thread, anything my qestion is about how can people believe everything in the bible or believe in the bible at all. 

When someoen wants to try to proof that there is a god they always read from the bible Which we all know MAN writen and made, and in the movie that RCC posted the guy that was talking was saying stuff like you will goto hell and all kinds of stuff about people going to hell.  And he acts like he knows this for fact.  The only time someone can say that there is a god is when someone says something from the bible. 

I see it like this, Say there was no BIBLE but there was a book about the easter bunny, and it says that he is god.  But no one has ever seen a easter bunny would you believe then.  No cause it sounds crazy, thats how the bible is to me.  People in the world shouldn't me mean to people by saying that if you don't believe in god and jesus that you will goto HELL.  Thats like me saying that if someone didn't believe in science and math, that they were stupid and crazy and weirdo. But i don't do that, i don't know anyone that believes like me says anything to bad to anyone like that.  But i know alot of people that say stuff like that alot.

Also how can i believe that there is a GOD when there isn't any other books that say there is oTHER than the bible.  The reason i believe in the stuff i do is cause there is so much data on everything that i think is real, and that happened. 

I feel that people can believe in whatever they want but shouldn't try to make others believe it or tell them what will happen if they don't believe cause they don't even know there just reading out of a book thats all the bible is.

Alot of people here will probably just reply and say well you have to have faith.  Well if you want to have faith that if the bible is right fine, and I don't think its wrong but people use faith in the wrong way in all religion's. 

I have always thought that even though I am only 19 years old. that if you live your life and don't hurt anyone and try to do wrong.  That people would still say your a good person but that isn't how it is,  people still say its wrong that you are the way you are. 

Well i kind of got off track there sorry.  But how can i not think that sometimes that people just think that i am a evil person and other stuff like that just cause i don't believe in god.

P.S I am not saying anyone here is that way, i havn't read any post here that says people that don't believe in god are evil, and are going to hell.

Here's the difference. The Christian has a personal relationship with Jesus, who lives in the Christian. I don't know anyone who has a personal relationship with an easter bunny.

This needs to be posted somwhere else. Many Christians belive in evolution, many don't. Evolution is about change in species over time, not about ones relationship with Jesus.

Your mixing metaphors here, I think. What he's claiming (relationship with Jesus) doesn't pertain to anything thats in the least verifyable by any rational deductive means.

Your relationship with your toaster is verifyable and observable. If we consider psychology as a science we may be even able to sort your personal relationship with your toaster out and help it improve.

Not everyone believes EVERYTHING in the bible. Some Christians are very literal and some aren't.

Some people enjoy telling others they are going to Hell. Maybe it's a way to validate thier faith or to give themselves a sense of superiority. Generally it's a sign of spiritual immaturity so I wouldn't pay too much attention to them, Seesaw.

Avoid these people. Again it all comes down to validation and spiritual immaturity. Many humans wear blinders and are unable to see beyond their own religious worldview. Lack of tolerance is a dangerous human quality. Imagine how few wars there would be if we humans would just practice tolerance and love towards our fellow man.

You're not on line, but I'll do the best I can to respond to your questions from the first post.

It seems to me the thing that gets under your skin is that you think that basically you are a decent enough bloke, yet some people (Christians) still say you will go to hell if you don't follow the beliefs they follow.

The best way to find out what Chrsitians believe is to see what Scripture says.

Death in Adam, Life in Christ

Basically, the passage says that Adam sinned by disobeying God. That sin resulted in man being alienated from God, and death. Hell follows for those who sin.

I have spent some time discussing why I believe God is the Creator of our universe, and each person. I look at that creation and see His power and intelligence in the things created. I do not believe they sprang spontaneously from nothing. I see no scientific evidence that contradicts the teaching of Scripture, and much that confirms Scripture.

But at the end of the day it is an issue of trust. Do I trust what God tells me through His word, or do I trust the theories of man. My trust (faith) is in God and what He says in the Bible.

As I've lived the Christian life, Ive seen God at work in the trials I have faced, and the blessings (good things) I've received. I am amazed at how clearly and accurately Scripture describes the condition of man. God and His word can be trusted.

I have read of and experienced manifestations of demonic powers. It is naive to suggest the spiritual world doesn't exist.

Michaih, you cannot prove something does not exist. Just as I cannot prove that I have never been to Kansas City (I haven't, but you only have my word to go on). On the other hand however, I can prove that I have been to Portland OR.

Either way, the existance of God can neither be proven nor disproven (by science or philosophy). It is all a matter of faith

I wonder if the bible can be as much an impediment to getting to know God as a tool?

Personally, I've experienced some things that some people would consider "ghostly manifestations". But I chock them up to natural occurance.

I've experienced the sensation of being crushed and choked while asleep. Crying out to Christ was the only way to be set free from the sensation. I've met other Christians who have experienced a similar thing.

Talk to those Christians who have been delivered from the occult. They would testify of the power of the demonic, but the greater power that is available through Christ.

The easter bunny did start out to be a god. It was the symbol for the furtility god. In the Greek world, if a women wanted to have a baby, that is the temple she would go to.

The thing about your book about the ancient god of fertility is the use of your word: "about". All you book is going to do is tell us "about" this ancient god.

The Bible IS the word of God.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

The word of God has all the authority & power of God behind it. The same God who created the universe, you and me. That is what makes it the word of God, because all of His authority is behind it. He watches over His word to perform it in our lives.
