  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I make jewelry as well...

You need to get crimping beads!!!

It makes life so much easier. I was never able to tie the knots and actually have them stay. Every time I tried, I ended up like the mice in Cinderella with beads rolling all across the floor. :D

A crimping bead is basically this tiny little silver bead or tube and can be used for several different purposes. You thread the elastic (or wire or whatever) through the bead, then use a crimper (I got mine at Michaels for somewhere around $10 - best investment I ever made!) and squeeze the bead closed. This holds the elastic/wire in place. To close off a bracelet, you basically feed both ends through (I use 2 crimping beads, probably overkill, but I'd rather be safe than sorry), crimp it shut, and then either cut off the excess or feed it back through the beads.

If you have questions, please feel free to PM me. I'll be glad to help any way I can! :)

I took a few pictures so you can see what everything looks like. The crimper is basically a fancy pair of pliers! I also took a picture of a relay for life bracelet that I made that has the crimp closure. I haven't cut off the excess or fed it through the beads yet (I prefer to feed it through, even if it pops back out - that way I know it is going to take a little more effort to pull that elastic through the crimped bead!)

Hope that helps some!!!
