I advise everyone to occasionally spend some time where you completely disconnect yourself from the media. Spend a couple of days where you don't watch the news, don't read the papers, don't go into political forums, don't gossip with your friends on the topic and so on. Don't worry, you can always catch up on what you missed afterwards, so you don't lose much by doing this.
The reason that I advise this is that you'll inevitably find when you come back that there is some new huge scandal which seems completely banal and pointless. Without the constant media hype to prepare you for it, you'll find it completely mystifying why anyone would care about such a thing, but much to your disbelief you'll find wall-to-wall coverage.
This "covfefe" thing is a prime example of that. I haven't watched the news since Monday or so and the more I read about this the less I can believe that anyone would care about it.
