  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've had the great privilege of seeing a heap of people post here about the way that God's been working in their lives, and been able to get to know some better through MSN. I thought it might be a good idea to create a thread where we all can just share things about where our respective relationships are, anything to praise God for, any problems that we might be able to join you in praying for, or even a Bible verse or something that's encouraged you in your walk and in your relationship with your S/O. :)

There are so many things to praise God for in my relationship.

We've both had things in our lives that could have made it very easy for what we have to fade away. But with each instance that has come about, we've worked together and saught God's help, and have come through victorious over things like finances, distance, and many others I'd care not to discuss.

Two short weeks and I'll be picking her up at the airport, and showing her around her new home. We've got many things planned to do, concerts are booked, some other trips planned... and she'll be starting school... Amazingly, God seems to be letting everything work out the way that we had hoped.

This will be a completely brand new place for her, where she knows few people... and so if you could just pray with me that when she gets here, that she finds her niche quickly and makes some good long lasting friendships with some new people to make her transition that much easier. I am sure friends won't be a problem for her though, as anyone that talks to her for 2 minutes can tell how great of a person she is.

Oh wow. There are soooooooooo many things I am thankful for! I have a rough time at home a lot of times and really don't have any friends but my bf is ALWAYS there for me. No matter what time or what he is doing. He is always there to encourage me and pray for me. He always makes me smile and laugh, especially in the worst times. He loves me and would do anything for me and I have complete confidence in that. Besides God of course, he is #2 in my life. He currently is at college right now and it is very difficult being physically apart from him after being together for 2 years but we are on the road to marriage and I cannot wait until that day finally comes! I am eternally grateful for God giving me him and will never be able to thank him enough!

I've got a bit of a prayer request. My fiance and I have been struggling big time with the physical side of our relationship...we've got 10 months to go until the wedding and I'm worried that if we continue on the path we're on we'll destroy not only our relationship with each other, but our relationships with God. We've tried drawing lines, limiting contact, etc. but with planning a wedding and trying to get to know each other's families, it feels like we're always together and getting into compromising situations. If you could pray that we can have self control, and that we will both keep relying on God for strength and guidance; I know I've felt myself slipping away from Him and I don't like it. Thanks!

I am in a very happy, healthy relationship. I thank God daily for my boyfriend, and not a day goes by that I don't say to myself, "This is it. This is how a relationship SHOULD be." We are honestly like two peas in a pod, but not in a co-dependent way. We love to spend time together, have great communication and we look out for each other's well-being. We've had our disagreements, of course, but so far we've been able to work them out without harsh or hurtful words.
Right now he is in Italy (military detachment), he's been there for about 2 months and will be coming home in late November-early December. I'll be flying over in a couple of weeks to visit, so please pray for a safe trip. This is my first trip out of the US, I'm kind of nervous but I know God will take care of me.
The day I arrive in Italy, it will be one year he and I have been together. I can't wait to see him, we've missed each other terribly!

Thanks and God Bless!
