Count Your Blessings​

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed​

When you are discouraged thinking all is lost​

Count your many blessings, name them one by one​

And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.​

Psalms 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

We tend to get discouraged, sometimes when, after the victory, we go through a valley. It is at these times we need to remember what the Lord has done for us.

I was thinking that this thread could be used as a testimony and praise of the many blessings God does bestow upon us. This way, when we are feeling discouraged, we can come back to this thread and remember and thank God for His mercy, grace and love.

I’ll start. I have a lot, but I won’t post them all at the same time.

I thank God for my salvation, that He loved me first.

I thank God for my husband and his leadership of our family.

I thank God for the wife of my dreams.

I thank God for the church I attend, and the people in it.

I thank God for His Grace that saved a soul like me.

I thank God for my Christian heritage.

I thank God for my paternal grandparents who still do daily devotions in their 90's.

I thank God for my parents who have only been married to each other for nearly 44 years.

I thank God for wonderful Christian friends (off of CF).

A funny story that came up when I saw this thread title... When I was a kid my uncle used to play around with me if I was acting up and say that I "better count my blessings!" and shake his fist at me in a playful way. One day at TG&Y (the precursor to Wal Mart), my cousin said that to me in the shopping line and I started counting "1 blessin', 2 blessin's, 3 blessin's..." The whole line was supposedly in tears they were laughing so hard.

This has been probably the most stressful weekend of my life, thanks for this thread

I am also thankful for a God who forgives those who ask for forgiveness sins committed.

1 cor 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

I thank God that He answers pray.

I thank Him for not answering prayer too, because He always knows what is best for me. Only He can see the big picture, while I, in my finite little brain, can only see what is here and now.
