Hey, I got a school project in religion where I'm supposed to ask some questions to a christian. Where I live it's pretty rare that people are religious so I don't know anyone I can ask. I thought I could ask someone here since it would be nice to hear what someone around my age thinks instead of a priest. Anyway, here are the questions:

How do you think your religion affect your view of life and your identity?

How do you feel christianity affected your identity? Is your "christian identity" different from your "school identity"

Why do you think just your religion is the right one?

What do you think is required from a person to be christian?

Hey, I got a school project in religion where I'm supposed to ask some questions to a christian. Where I live it's pretty rare that people are religious so I don't know anyone I can ask. I thought I could ask someone here since it would be nice to hear what someone around my age thinks instead of a priest. Anyway, here are the questions:

Be glad to!

How do you think your religion affect your view of life and your identity?

First off, my religion has transformed beyond a set of beliefs. These beliefs make up who I am. They are intertwined into my every thought and action. While what I believe is still technically a "religion" by technical terminology, I think of it as a relationship. From that, it has changed everything. First, it helped me through a serious pit of depression. I didn't see life as worth living or loving. By "finding God", I was able to overcome that depression through my religion. He has helped me in so many ways, from better understanding myself to better understand others. I don't see life as pointless anymore, I want to keep living. I don't let stereotypes or expectations get to me anymore. I have become a bit of a non-comformist, and I don't mean a "hipster". I don't let label control me anymore. I wear what I want to wear. I eat what I want to eat. I listen to what I want to listen. I don't care anymore about what others think of me, but what God thinks of me.

Wow. That was long. TLDNR.

How do you feel christianity affected your identity? Is your "christian identity" different from your "school identity"

I try not to be a hypocrite and have multiple personalities. I try to be myself in all situations with all people. God is unchanging, so why should I be?

Why do you think just your religion is the right one?

A myriad of reasons, but it all started back in my depression. I wanted to know what was true, if anything actually was true. Going through the major world religions and anti-religions I finally settled on Christianity. Not your mainstream, Sunday-only Christianity, but a very radical and free Christianity.

What do you think is required from a person to be christian?

I cannot judge another person's salvation. I can only look at their fruit. If they have the Fruits of the Spirit(love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control), than I cannot judge them.

How do you think your religion affect your view of life and your identity?

It has changed my view of life quite drastically, ever since I my change a few months ago, the world seems so different now. In regards to my identity, I hope I am gradually losing a mindset that is focused on me most of the time and gaining one for the interest of others.

How do you feel christianity affected your identity? Is your "christian identity" different from your "school identity"
The first part of the question is answered above. And in relation with the experience I went through, I try to no longer "fit in" with unbelievers or people who could corrupt my character. Yet I am trying to get over my fears so I can boldly share my faith with others.

Why do you think just your religion is the right one?
Well I could answer with some "evidence" for the existence of my Creator but instead one of the things that assures me my faith is not for naught is God Himself, the God who inspired men to write the bible. I find it hard to explain, but whenever I read the bible I always believe it is inerrant and God's holy word.

What do you think is required from a person to be christian?
If the basis of this question is from the root, then a person would need to believe that he is a sinner, there is no way for him to get into heaven on his own, in Jesus as the Son of God who took away the sins of the world by dying on the cross and raising from the dead on the third day, Jesus being the way the truth and the life, repentance, and of course, be a new creation or born-again.

If you're asking what they do to show they are a Christian, then on of the most notable one is their love for others with faith in Christ and their fruit.

I guess those were just brief answers to your questions, if you need me to clarify my answers a bit more then please do ask.

May His grace and peace be with you.

1 - Well I don't believe in a religion... I believe in Jesus! He is God not a religion!!!

2 - My identity is Kaylee Ann... God's girl. Everyone at school know I'm a Christian and a couple years ago 3 girls beat me up because I kept telling people about Jesus. I don't think I force anybody to listen to me put I talk alot about Jesus!

3 - I don't believe religion is from God. It is a worldly term used to describe the religions of this world.

4 - This is an interesting question. Religions like Jehovah's Witnesses, and the Mormons don't believe that Jesus is not only the Son of God, but that He is God also! They don't believe in the Trinity. So a quote about the Trinity is in 1 John 5:7

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And concerning the ministry of Jesus, I love John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

I feel as being Christian, it actually helps me, as I have something to believe in. When I'm really down, at least I know God would be there.

no, it was never different.

Why do you think just your religion is the right one?
well, for me personally, i was raised into a christian family. But you know, there is times where I know he was there, especially in my younger teen years when things werent the best. I guess thats how I know its the best one for me.
What do you think is required from a person to be christian?

I dont think its all "well you need to go to church every sunday" sort of thing, sure yes people will do that, but its more to it then that. You yourself have to believe, going to a place where others believe wont exactly be 100% true, not unless you yourself truly believe. Well, that's the way I look at things
