  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Could listening to loud music all the time make me eventually go deaf?

From Wikipedia -
"If one is exposed to loud music consistently (i.e. 110 decibels+), then hearing impairment will occur. This is especially true when the listener is listening through headphones, as the headphones are in closer proximity to the ear drum than a loudspeaker. With the invention of in-ear headphones, these dangers are increased."

This is why I wear earplugs when I'm working FOH lighting for bands.

There are some excellent noise reducing earplugs put out by Sensaphonics. They reduce levels of all frequencies without muffling sound and are only $10 a pair. Highly recommended if you're a frequent concert goer.

as the others have said, it will definately damage your hearing... at work i have to use ear plugs alot due to extremely loud air tools we use (im a mechanic).. my hearing is the one thing i DONOT want to lose!
if i dont use earplugs at work i come home and all i can hear is ringing (sign that your ear drum has sustained some sort of damage)
