Could Jack Have Been Saved?

You know Jack from Titanic. This debate has been going on practically since the movie has come out and I say NO he couldn't have simply for two reasons. One,.. he couldn't fit on the door with Rose and he obviously didn't want to leave her side. Two,.. Jack surviving would have defeated the whole purpose of the movie about love and loss and moving on with your life. Here's the deleted scene that proves my first point. Also it just wouldn't have been as powerful.
