  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Could 2015 be the year of the second coming of the Messiah?

Mark Biltz is a pastor whose teaching emphasis is Jewish roots and who has also extensively studied the dates of solar and lunar eclipses from NASA and other astronomical resources, and how they line up precisely with Jewish feast days in the year 2015.

In the interview below he explains how these signs tell of a possible second coming according to bible prophecy. It's interesting to think that maybe YHWH uses the feast days as a way to tell us of his return. He did use them to tell us of his first coming, after all. Here is the video with the interview:

It seems I can't post links... Please go to google and type "prophecy in the news 2015" and it will be the first result.

I honestly don't know what to think about all of this stuff, but it's interesting to say the least. If it's true then that means we're in the seven year tribulation right now (starting last Fall, the beginning of the Sabbatical year...I think. I'm still learning). Maybe this little financial crises is just the beginning of something even worse to come!

I guess we'll know for sure once we see if a peace treaty is signed this year, haha. Who knows? Barack Obama could very well be the Antichrist! I'm kidding! ...sort of. No, really, I am kidding...but, you know, he certainly seems like he would make a good Antichrist, at least to me. :)

Anyway, what do you think about this craziness?

I think it's just that. Craziness.

People are always trying to set dates. When they're last prediction comes and goes they move on to another future date and pretend it's the first time they've said anything. Quite frankly I'm a little tired of hearing it all.

It will happen when it's supposed to, that's all we really need to know, right? Anyway, as long as we are prepared the exact timing, day year or decade, doesn't matter one iota.

Here we go again. I guess Jesus telling his diciples that no man would know the hour or the day of his final coming doesn't stop some folks from forecasting. Yeah, sure 2015 is as good as any year. Why not 2009,2010, or 2101 just for a swing at the bleachers? I like 2012 better because it's the most popular year of doom and judgement scince the 2000 bust. You get to mess around with ancient Mayan calendars and other quasi-occultic hoo-doo. Add in enough scripture mashing and bending, and you can sound half way credible, as there is always an eager audience for doomcasting and of course setting a time table for the second coming of our Lord.:preach:

I'm not trying to be mean, but I lived through the date setting, season watching hoopla of this type ever scince the 70's when Hal Lindsey's book 'The Late Great Planet Earth' was a best seller. I'll give Mr. 2015 credit for at least being more original these days than most others.

What bugs me is when people go on and on about scripture and how it should be followed to the tee and then they set dates on the end of time when God clearly said nobody but him would know, not even the angels in heaven.

I have been hearing about the second coming of christ on various dates right from 1987 to till dates. My faith is that the Lord will decide his time and we should always be ready for his coming. It can happen even now at this moment. The question is are you prepared for that Moment or are you still waiting until 2015 to happen?

We are to know the season.

I've been watching the season watchers since 1972 and most of them end up becoming date setters. I'm starting to understand why preterism has been gaining again in popularity in recent times. Anyone who tries to excuse themselves with generalities such as picking a month or a year are date setting like it or not.

What part of Mathew 24:11
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many
and Mathew 24:36
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Is it that you people don't get?

I suppose if Jesus did come in 2015 that would mean that the bible was wrong and so it wouldn't be perfect, meaning that Jesus could not be the messiah and so couldn't return, so any dates are predicted with reason they could not be the day that he returns as it would be logically impossible.

Anyway, what do you think about this craziness?

This link covers the subject that you speak:
http://www.wnd.com/index.php?pageId=63076

This link will allow you to see celestial events for yourselves so that you can see what the author is speaking of and draw your own conclusions:
http://www.seasky.org/astronomy/astronomy_calendar_2015.html

The coming of Christ and the deliverance of the Jews are 2 distinct events. I believe that the 4 lunar eclipses in 2014-2015 could be significant for the Jews, but not for Christ's church. Read Rev. 6:9-13:

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?" Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed. I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

If we examine a similar passage from Matthew 24, we see that the opening of the sixth seal marks the end of the Great Tribulation and the return of our Lord for His church:

Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. Matthew 24:29-31

If we continue to read Revelation we see that the chosen Jews are sealed for the "Day of the Lord," as it is called by the ancient prophets who continue along with Christ while those who were martyred in the tribulation are safely in heaven:
Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They called to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?"

After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.
From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed,
from the tribe of Reuben 12,000,
from the tribe of Gad 12,000,
from the tribe of Asher 12,000,
from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000,
from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000,
from the tribe of Simeon 12,000,
from the tribe of Levi 12,000,
from the tribe of Issachar 12,000,
from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000,
from the tribe of Joseph 12,000,
from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000.

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:
"Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb." All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying:
"Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!"
Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?"
I answered, "Sir, you know."
And he said, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore,
"they are before the throne of God
and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.
Never again will they hunger;
never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat upon them,
nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;
he will lead them to springs of living water.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
Revelation 6:15-7:17

Biltz believes that these events mark the return of Christ, but clearly, he is mixing up Christ's return with The Day of the Lord, for he notes, "In the Old Testament, the prophet Joel states, 'The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.' " (Joel 2:31)

Biltz says, "You have the religious year beginning with the total solar eclipse, two weeks later a total lunar eclipse on Passover, and then the civil year beginning with the solar eclipse followed two weeks later by another total blood red moon on the Feast of Succoth all in 2015."

These celestial events may have some significance to the 144,000 Jews who are participating in the Day of the Lord, but it has absolutely nothing to do with Christ's return or the rapture of His Church.
