Another question would be: If someone posts something critical of Trump but is factual, will that organization be able to retain their place or will they lose it?

The reason is simple. The Association has packed the pool with leftist journalists for decades. They would not have lost this privilege if they had been fair and equal. They are only there to lift things out of context, misquote, or argue with policies they do not like. That is not the role of a reporter. My wife was a reporter and managing editor for years. She would have fired half of them for editorializing in what should be simple informational stories. Anyone honest and true will admit the press corp is blatantly and intentionally biased toward liberals and democrats and against conservatives and republicans. Why would the president or any entity knowingly allow this into their press conferences? You know what they are going to do.

They twist, misquote, editorialize, and misrepresent what was said. A story relating some WH policy should not have more of the reporter's ideas than the President's. It is dishonest and does not fulfill the role of a reporter or news agency. If they want to politicize, they should run for office. People want to know what the President thinks and says, not some 8-year J-school grad's twisted opinion about it. Opinion writing should be limited to the Opinion page, not the hard news. I don't blame the Prez. If someone continually (and it has been going on for almost a decade now) twisted and misrepresented what I said... I would not talk to them either.

No they don't. They would get sued if that happened. How often has that happened?
Trump just lies and it gets reported on. He lies about objective facts (a data point, like Zelenskyy only has 4% support) and his supporters STILL argue his words are "being twisted".

I haven't come across a human adult male who has required MORE translations from people who agree with him, than Donald Trump.

This idea that "he is always being misunderstood" is just weird.

And in poisoning the press, Trump has now made it so that there is no critique of him that his supporters would EVER have to endure. That and the fact that he is constantly telling people that he's the only one who can fix America, who can do "x" makes it seem like a social organization.
