When i was first diagnosed my mother seemed really supportive. But now she has become a so called expert on bipolar and thinks she knows everything. NOw it has gotten to the point to where I cannot even make my own decisions about youth group activites, supposedly "because of my health". She thinks she knows the way that I cycle, but she doesn't. I just wish she'd leave it alone. I only have one year left at home.
Can anyone relate? Maybe it's just my mother...

educate yourself. start knowing when you cycle, what are your early warning signs so that the two of you can start working together, being mutually supportive.

Pray for wisdom. It is very frustrating to feel controlled and yet your Mom, if she wasn't controlling before is trying to help whether she understands or not. Open conversations will help. Talk to her about how you need to learn to make these decisions before you are out on your own and ask her to help you learn how to do this, but do it respectfully or it can backfire. Just nicely let her know that she is intruding on your learning about this new thing you have. Also, When we have a problem like this it belongs to the whole family. Maybe she can't handle this and this is the way that she copes.
