  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Besides natural law, is there another reason Catholics believe artificial contraception is wrong while NFP isn't?

The Natural Law is God's Law. It is primarily on this that the Catholic Church bases its teachings against contraception. This should be enough.

Also, I'm closing this thread, due to the temporary moratorium:

Temporary Moratorium (3/13 - 4/1)

The following topics will be temporarily (until April 1) off-limits for discussion in OBOB:

1) Outside the Church there is No Salvation
2) The Validity of the Novus Ordo &/or Tridentine Masses
3) Schismatic groups
4) The Authority of Vatican II
5) Contraception
6) Natural Family Planning
7) Ecumenism

Due to the inflammatory and unorthodox presentations of these topics in OBOB lately, a temporary moratorium has been declared. Any threads started on any of the aforementioned topics will be closed and/or deleted at moderators' discretion. Warnings will not be issued except in cases of repeat offenders.

We must remember that this is Lent, and that in this holy penitential season, charity must prevail. When that cannot happen, we must take a step back and examine why that is. We must each look into our own soul and see the imprint with which it has been sealed - our good God Himself. All that we do, and all that we say should reflect this reality.
