  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yes, yes, my mistake. Anything that is made for entertainment gets a free ticket to confuse and misinform any number of people who are curious about Christianity.

Well, if they are curious, won't they go to a priest or a preacher and ask for information?? Where else are they going to go, someone who has no crediblity and off the streets?? Think before you post...

I know alot of fellow non-christians that believe this movie is an accurate portrayal of Christianity. (sarcasm)

It was about a battle between good and evil. Did the theology make sense? NO. Did the story make sense? NO. Was it good mindless entertainment for the college discounted price of 5 dollars. SURE.

I went to the movie with 3 atheists. The whole way home they discussed religion, (something they never do) That in itself, giving me the opportunity to talk on the topic wasgreat. How often are people that open to religion? The movie itself I liked. Just a reminder that there is that battle raging all around us was creepy. But we all know who wins. Special effects and acting was good, the movie was a little grosser than I like to watch, but it had a plot and was not a mindless romantic comedy of the same plot for the gazillionth time!

Everybody, in the fourm, breathe, smile, I love you! And it will be alright. I'm sure the producer of this movie did not intend to upset anyone about religion, it was just another chance for Keanu to make another movie where he got to "kick butt"

It's a mooovvviiieee, made for entertainment purposes. Of course it's not going to be 100% spiritually correct. Sheesh, some people are just too stuborn to look outside the box...

Dude, can't you see past anything but the hollywood label? Believe it or not, there was a lot of research that went into the movie, I could tell just by watching it. Sure the plot line was not scripturally correct, but that is not the point of the movie now is it.

I like the fact that satan was a puppet like in real life, God came through when called upon, the demons in the movie were scripturally correct (although I don't think any demons are in hell and Gabriel is a mesenger, Michael is the fighter), and the rules that God and satan are to follow. It is much bigger than good triumphs over evil.

When you watch a movie, lots of money goes into script writing and screen play. A movie of this magnatude offers the viewers more than just face value, especially when the character's have prior history. Nothing in this world can be judged by face value, look deeper and you will find more.

I like the name (no, I did not base my name off it) It looks intresting, worth renting.

I enjoyed myself while watching this film this weekend, in spite of some things that personally annoyed me, and the fact that I missed the first 15 minutes (approximately). The film is still with me, still on my mind, and I saw it Saturday afternoon, so that should say something, at least personally.

And frankly, if every movie that was about this or similar topics were "Scripturally correct" (whatever that means), then they'd all be the same! Not everything is about recruitment. To me this film was more about fantasy than reality, but that's because I do not accept its basic premises. I've read the comic book off and on, and sometimes I've liked it and other times I haven't. John Constantine does seem to find himeself in some rather dark situations!

Believe me, I know what it takes to write a screenplay. It's one of the things I do. But you also need to realize that it's a movie created for entertainment purposes. Not as a "witnessing tool" as some people like to call it. It's a story about good an evil. Does it have a foundation of spirituality? Well, ya, it's a story about demons. The ultimate good and evil.

My biggest gripe on it is people who complain that this or that wasn't theologically correct. This is why I posted that to begin with. Of course it's not theologically correct. It's a movie.

Theological debates asside.... I loved this movie. I didn't think I would buy into the whole repentence theme, but it was actually fairly well done. That, and I loved seeing Gavin Rossdale from Bush as Balthazar, and I also thought the actor who portrayed the Devil was incredible. And Rachel Weisz is absolutely beutiful.

Again, some people hate it, some people are idiots. Definatly a link between the two. I loved it. The subtleties are what hooked me. Like Lucifer appearing human, but cannot cover his feet. Constantine being too cool to steal a kiss before battle.

I liked Gabriel turning corrupt. Makes sense to me. I liked the movie. If you don't like it cause of failed plot from the bible, then you're not even trying to enjoy the movie, you're committing yourself too much to your bible and not taking a break for a good motion picture.

I am not an idiot just because I did not like the movie... I didn't like it because it just is not my type of movie. I hated the Matrix... I like movies that can at least be partially real, with the exception of some. I didn't hate the movie because of it's Bible connections or whatever I hated it because I didn't find it entertaining.

I was pretty angry that they made Gabriel into an evil character. What an insult. Also, why are there cars and buildings in hell? lol. 2 stars out of 5.

They didn't make her into an evil character, she just tried to make things "right" but tried too hard.
