I seem to be relatively immune to conspiracy theories, but perhaps I haven't recognized some personally attractive conspiracy theory that I've accepted as truth.

I'm rather fascinated by conspiracy theories, but while I discern the facts presented, if I am still going "hmmm", I think there is something there. It's like SNL's "Really?"

9/11. It is difficult for me to believe that it was simply coincidental that the Bin Laden family was to leave the country a few days prior to 9/11, and coincidental that there was a government drill a few days prior of evacuating in case a plane flew into one of the towers, and it was a coincidence that the towers didn't fall sideways, but straight down, the way they do when being purposefully demolished, and a coincidence that many people were suddenly ill that day, and not in the towers, and a coincidence that it seemed to be a continuation of Desert Storm and the search for Sadam.

The government says that there was no second explosion in the towers, but I saw it live on TV, people standing said it, it is on numerous news reports. Maybe the government wasn't watching TV that day.

I am told that of all the planes, they were unable to find 1 black box, something that they always find. There were no plane part to speak of, and yet, with every other plane crash, there was a black box, and pieces of the plane. Yet, the government WAS able to find someone's PAPER passport. And not Black Box? Really????

Planes have flown into numerous buildings. They have remained standing, and burning for 24 hours. I am told that the plane's fuel melted the supports, although the towers were built to resist the impact of a plane flying into the towers. And you want me to believe that the firefighters ran up into the building, not because they assumed that they had a small window of time, and the building wouldn't collapse, but ran up to the 70th floor or so, knowing it was going to collapse? Really?


When I ask why the president just keeps reading the Children's book, people argued that he didn't want to tramatize the students (so he sacrificed 3000 people's lives by the trauma of saying, "There is a National Emergency. I have to leave"? Really?????

There are companies making a lot of money off of this, and that again, is ANOTHER coincidence?

And after pointing to all this evidence, the government still say, "Yeah. Go figur'. And if you think it's a conspiracy, your craaaaaazy, or antiAmerican."

Here are some other crazy conspiracies: Enron, and Arthur Anderson.
CIA and secret Prisons.
The CIA importing Cocaine (proven, and then they had the cajones to claim it was an error. An error? An error is when you picked up whole milk instead of 2%. This is like going out for milk, and "accidently" coming home with a kilo of coke. "Oops. How did that get there?"
Iran Contra - wait, I don't recall....Really??? So are you a liar, or just incompentent?
Watergate...
Numerous scandals ending with -gate...

I just read this:
CONSPIRACY THEORY 3: The FBI facilitated and allowed the World
Trade Center bombing to happen when they could have stopped it.

FACTS: As reported by The New York Times (10/28/93) and CNN, Mr.
Salem, a 43-year-old former Egyptian Army officer, was used by the
FBI to infiltrate the terrorists later charged in the Trade Center
bombing. The original plan told to Mr. Salem was that his job was
to see to it that fake explosives were used, then the bombers would
be busted for planting what they thought was a real bomb with no
possibility of anybody getting hurt. A good plan. Mr. Salem
secretly tape-recorded hundreds of hours of his telephonic
communications with authorities without their knowledge.

The recordings reveal that the FBI changed the original plan and
told Mr. Salem NOT to use the fake explosives but to use REAL
explosives. The FBI agent who told him to use real explosives was
adamant about this. I saw and heard this on CNN in '93 and could not
believe my eyes and ears, I thought, "We'll never hear the end of
this." Boy was I wrong, it totally disappeared. Alas, there is

While these recordings were played in preliminary court hearings,
they were barred from the actual trial because Mr. Salem made them
without the permission of the FBI agents. The govt can bug you without
your permission, but the opposite is not also true -- that's tyranny.
The tapes exist, and they prove that the FBI de facto orchestrated the
bombing of the World Trade Center, an act that would result in massive
new police powers for the FBI. However, because the tapes were barred
from court, the media simply pretends they don't exist and the truth
is forever nullified from the official GovtMedia story, exiled to
the dark allies of seedy conspiracy theory.

They say that tens of thousands would have died if the truck-bomb
had been able to park in the spot the bombers had reserved, right
next to a key column, but when they got there a car had taken their
spot. I'd like to think someone knew about this and parked the car
there to saves the lives of thousands of people.

Actually, does anyone trust the Government?
Bobcat Goldwait said once, "Reagan has been accused of selling arms illegally to Iran. Now, I'm not the brightest bulb in box, but wasn't Iran "the bad guys" not 8 years ago???" And what are we doing? Giving guns to Iran, then going over to Iraq, and saying, "hey. I think they have guns..."?

But of course, such things like the Manhattan Project... or does it count as a conspiracy theory after it has been proven?

More so, if I must ascribe to one main one, I have to say it is 'Conspiracy Theories', or to put it in other words, while I don't have any personal ones, I am not against those who hold such theories assuming their logic is good. Often it isn't, but there are cases out there where it is.

The thing is with the 9/11 conspiracies, is most of them have been debunked. The only thing that just occurred to me, although I'm sure someone else has asked the question before, is why weren't 4 hijacked jets flying in the wrong direction at least scrambled by military craft?
