The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. Consolation for the Despairing
In Spurgeon's sermons one unfailingly sees his heart, as he opens the Scriptures.Me too. He too thought he had committed the unpardonable sin which is why I looked into him. So many great sermons came thru him. I am amazed how God uses people.
He give the impression in his sermons of someone who has been in the sanctuary prayerfully, and is full of the Word of God.Even if one just sifts through the numerous famous quotes from Spurgeon and nothing else, there is a lot of wisdom and grace in there. And all of it glorifies God and Christ.

2 Corinthians 1.5 comes to mind, as regards the prayerful anguish of spirit that Spurgeon evidently wrestled with from time to time:Yes, and from his writings and sermons it is clear that he has suffered himself. He's been downcast, sorrowful, tried in many ways. Someone who can spot sorrow from a mile away, and eager to comfort and lift up. These are the people I learn the most from. Quick to give, comfort and encourage, slow to demand and condemn.
Seems there is always something solid in them, anyway.I need to read more Spurgeon sermons then...lol. u guys seem to have read quite a few.

Good points there; reading both Luther and Spurgeon, one can hear their hearts...Oh yes. And even if they are well-worded to the point where we can admire the prose, that is just surface, and surface doesn't mean much. Spurgeon took great care in preaching comfort for the broken, the poor, the common miserable man. These can never be left out, these can never be even in the second place. Of course God has the first place, but I was talking about people. Luther had that too. I read a whole book of Luther's home sermons, he never wanted to leave a common poor sinner without the grace of Gospel, loved it.
