  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not exactly Anabaptist but I couldn't find better place.

I'm wondering if there are some Moravians, maybe some groups in Moravian Church I couldn't find, that support traditional views on sexuality, pastor ordination etc? I feel Moravian Church is very close to me, I like many aspects of Moravians, but the problem is I didn't find anything like this. Maybe Moravian Church is not (yet...) so liberal like liberal anglicans or liberal lutherans but ordination of women is widely practiced in whole Moravian Church. in America, especially North Province of Moravian Church, acceptance for homosexual unions or ministers is growing, also close relationship with the Episcopal Church or liberal ELCA doesn't help... So I'm still didn't decide to join Moravian Church because of that. But maybe there are some conservative Moravian groups, maybe here are some Moravians too?

You might want to check with conservative Lutherans if there are any in your country. There aren't many Moravians depending on where you live. Theologically, Moravians are more similar to Lutherans.

Moravians were a major influence on John Wesley and his renewal. Not having been in areas where Moravian church exists, I did not know that they, like the Methodists, are departing from Scripture.

But maybe, like the Anabaptists and Quakers, there may still be small conservative groups.
