confused

I was raised up going to church, both of my grandfathers were preaches. But, I have never really understood the word of God. There is so much in the bible that confuses me. Most of all what confuses me is that God wants his word to be shared with all...my papaw was a preacher and the best man I will ever have known...he shared God's word with all that he met...he would ask a stranger if they knew God...if they said no, he would tell them about God...if they said yes, they would talk the bible for hours. Well God took my papaw from me October 13, 2005. My papaw was a great man that lived for God and would still be sharing his word and helping people get saved if he were still here. So why did God take him??? Not only did he take my papaw...but my whole family is split up now...alot of them in jail, some for something they did not do. I was tought that the truth will be known, then why are they having to do time when they are innocent??? Then there is the part of the bible that says "Tho shalt not have any God before me" or summin like that...Well...I was told that there are people that go to other countries that try to teach them about God and that is their chance, if they dont start believing in God then they will go to hell...well if they come to have us to learn and praise their God, we are going to think they are crazy...so why would they go to hell ???

Okay that is all i will rant about for now...I could go on for hours about all this.

First of all you have to realize the condition of the world in which we live. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil they were in essence saying that "we will make ourselves to be like God". In other words, they said that they were going to do things, their way and not God's.

God's responce to this was that if they did not want Gods presence, they they did not have to have it. He removed himselfe from them and the earth.

Now God is the sustainer of all things. Without him, the world and man start to break down. They no longer work they way they are supposed to. Crazy things start to happen. This is why man has a sinful nature and why the earth was cursed.

As Christians, we have been made a new creation. We now live in the presence of God, but we still live in a world that is still fallen, that is till messed up. As such we will continue to endure some of the hardshipd of this earth. We will still experience physical death and injustice. This thinsga will not go away unrill the earth has been bade new and the relationship fully restored.

This is the time for which we long. The time when God will return and take full controle of all things. When all things are made new and the old has passed away.

Now without the sustaining relationship with God, man is cursed to live a broken life. If that broken life is not made new by the time they die, they will not be able to enter into paradise. Only those who have been made perfect, who have been made new, can enter into paradise. At death there are only two options, paradise or eternal punishment.

I would not think these people crazy if they try to get us to follow their beliefs, but I would think that they are wrong. This is why we must endevor to show them the truth.

Hi jcB ,

This current world is still rather separated from God . Therefore , " bad stuff " happens .

The reason why people are doomed who don't believe on Jesus is two fold .

1. Except we accept His Atoning Sacrifice , we are left trying to prove our own acceptability to God ; and since all have sinned and fallen short , this means we aren't able to be acceptable on our own .

2. Unless we trust in The Lord , so that we follow His Instruction , our soul will not develop into a harmonious relationship with God ; and if we remain contradictory to God and His Kingdom , we will not be accepted into His Presence .

Another thing about the bad stuff , once we experience The Lord living in us , by The Gift of The Holy Spirit , we begin to have God's Great and Everlasting Good Comfort and Consolation in our mind and heart ; and this makes even the bad stuff to be tolerable , so that we are not overwhelmed by it .

Pray with Jesus , and What He's Done for you in mind , for The Gift of The Holy Spirit , if you're really serious about wanting to get to know God personally like your papaw .

I am sorry your having a hard time. I understand because I've been there. My Daddy died in 2000 and I felt the same way. I was so angry at God for not healing my Daddy, I prayed for that before he died. I was so young too, and I needed my Daddy, my Mom and I are not close, he was all the family I had. What I have learned is that for what ever reason death is a part of life and when it happens is obviously in God's hands. I don't know why we have to die, and I'm not being sarcastic, I'm serious. You know at some point we ALL face that. Death is certain once we are alive. As for the times we can't know why these things happen when they do we just have to believe that our loved ones are safe and at rest with God, and we have to hope that one day when we die we will see them again. Faith, Hope, and Love, these 3 remain, the Greatest is Love. Just hold on tightly to Love sister. Don't try to understand these things, remember that the tree Adam and Eve ate from was of the KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL. Please, do not try to understand what you are not ment to, it only brings HEARTACHE. I promise, I've been there. I can tell you that everything doesn't have to make sense. I know your hurting, and maybe you can find some way to turn your pain into something productive. Use it to help others, that helps get you through it without being too resentfull. As for the whole hell thing, and others in far countries, as I suggested before, please, do not try to make sense of that. Just try to trust God, and trust that He does LOVE you. He really does love you, and your pawpaw would not want you to dwell on this and be dragged away from God. Just ask God to give you peace. I will pray for you also, I hope I helped, I'm sorry if I didn't, I do love you, In Christ.
