Confused, sad, and lost. Please need help?

But, I just don't see how someone could all of a sudden out of the blue, change into someone different. I know it's not just me either because I confided in a mutual friend with my ex and he told me what I believed was happening. He said my ex defenitly has changed and he's not the same person.
