  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Heh that

On 07/07/07 the then webmaster of CF decided to carry out a lot of "reforms" on the site that made it governed by Wiki's, far too ecumenical and just an overall pain in the rear. One of the results of, what I like to call, the Wikonian Reforms was that non-Christians would be able to, in a roundabout way, insult Christians and get away with it. Mormons and JWs would also be considered "Christians" even though they are both neo-heresies.

So, as a bit of an in-joke the user nestoj came up with the name for those of us in TAW that absolutely hated the Reforms.

A good read of Orthodox history finds that there are all sorts of little schismatic groups for all sorts of reasons, so the name was also a bit of a play on that fact.
