  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was reading posts about the end of the world's system or rather the end times and the way things are. According to the Bible, will the world, including the US, go into debt and poverty? I am concerned about the fiscal cliff as we all are, and I wonder if the fiscal cliff could be a sign of the end.

I also notice that men and women seem to be greater enemies than ever before. I know that because of sin there will be enmity according to Genesis, but it seems to have gotten worse...much worse. I hate to say this, but I wonder if chivalry is dead. The boys disrespect women and the women are very rude. Is this also a sign that points to the end times?

How do Christians prepare for the End times, if we are not living there already? How much worse can things get? Newtown, CT brought tears to my eyes, yet somehow I cannot imagine things worse than that if that is possible. Though I am sure worse things have happened, I cannot think of anything.

Hello:)

In 1 Thessalonians 4 it says 'encourage one another' with the coming of the Lord.

It's not to be a fearful thing for us, who are looking forward to it.

So don't be afraid, though there will be darkness for a time the day will dawn.

Lots.

Newtown, CT brought tears to my eyes, yet somehow I cannot imagine things worse than that if that is possible.

That was nothing compared to other wars, massacres, etc. in world history.

Though I am sure worse things have happened, I cannot think of anything.

Well then, take it from me that you're worried way, way too much.

We had some depressions in the 20th century, which affected most of the world at one time or another. We had some pretty brutal mass genocides during that time as well. All in all, the world right now is much more peaceful than it was during the last century, even with our "war" on terror.

If you ask me, all this talk of the "fiscal cliff" is just a means to scare us into begging Congress to raise our taxes. They could tax every single person in the U.S. making over $100,000/year at a rate of 100% and still not get enough revenue to balance the budget. But Congress (both parties) and the President don't want you to know that. They just want you to beg them to raise your taxes to "save the country". Ignore them for the vipers that they are. There is no "fiscal cliff" the demands all of our taxes to be raised through the roof.

And even if I'm wrong about that, do you trust that God will provide for all of your needs?

The demons want us to fear. They want us to despair and give up. They want us to stop trusting Christ. Ignore their deception and don't be afraid. Everything will work out, whether it's in a way that we'd like or not.

The debt is so huge that many taxes will have to be levied just to pay the interest on the debt. And the government will have to borrow more and more just to pay it's bills. The whole system is folllowing an end-times trajectory now. But God's people have a better country, a better citizenship.

If you are fearful, I want to suggest you to read Psalm 91, and Matthew 28:16-20.

Actually I am looking forward to see the end of ages, and I have nothing to fear... IF.... I place my trust in God. :)

Indeed... For me, tribulation and trials will be nothing compared to the prize that our Lord has prepared for the believers in heaven! (Romans 8:18 and onwards) :D
Cheer up my brothers and sisters! For our God keeps his promises true to those who believe in Him.

All glory to God only. :D

Matthew 24 gives us the key to overcoming the trials and tribulations that we are and will be facing.

Mat 24:8 All these [are] the beginning of sorrows.
Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Mat 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Mat 24:13 But he that shall endure( in FAITH) unto the end, the same shall be saved.

All born again christians that maintain and walk in thier faith will be covered and protected by the Lord.

Psalm 91.

Thomas
