This is gonna sound really stupid, but tell me if there's any POSSIBLE way this could be interesting okay?

Let's say a teenage girl named Amy, found a Bible. The Bible contained only the Gospel. Now Amy is a big reader, so she decided to read the Gospel to see what it was. Amy had never heard of God or Jesus or Christianity before. She had never even seen a Bible (I know this is stupid, but read the whole thing and tell me what you think okay?). Amy was a drug addict, hung out with the wrong crowd, drank, etc. But as she read the Gospel, she started to think about how she was living her life. After a while she stopped hanging out with her friends, and tried to become a better person. She later told other people about the book she found, but was criticized for reading it. Amy had no idea why, but she remembered one part telling her that people would look down on her because of Jesus. Remember, Amy had not become a Christian yet. She just thought that what Jesus had to say was interesting and different from everything else she heard. As time went by, she found more and more books of the Bible just lying around. At this point, she started getting curious and went to the library to ask about what she was finding. The librarian was kind enough to give her the full Bible.

I have no idea what to do next okay? I know this whole thing is stupid and unrealistic, but is there any way this might be a good little story? I'm trying to think of some clever way Amy could become a Christian, and explain somehow why she never heard of the Bible or anything like that. (maybe her parents deliberately kept her away?)

Tell me what you think. Be brutally honest if you think it's a waste okay? Cause I'm thinking the same.

Interesting concept, and nothing is "stupid" in the world of creativity, nothing. Think of who Amy is, how she got where she's at, etc. Details, mon, details. Just who IS this Amy?

Here's a question that came to mind for me.....what specifically caught her attention about what she read, and why? What impact did it have on her heart and mind? Why didn't she just throw it away or toss it aside. Here's the clincher. She didn't. Be a detective and find out why. Get to know Amy. Bring her to life.

Waste? Do YOU think it's a waste? And isn't that all that matters? Hey, if Amy is chompin' at da bit to be heard and to come to life, it don't much seem like a waste to me. Let her.

Aw thanks brinny! I had been thinking of several possibilities of why Amy wouldn't "toss it aside." Remember I said she was a big reader? Well, maybe the things Jesus said made her think this was an unusual teaching politically and kept reading. Besides, she supposedly never heard of the Bible or Jesus or anything like that so she wouldn't have known any better. I mean she wouldn't think "oh yeah this is that whole God thing."

"Waste? Do YOU think it's a waste? And isn't that all that matters? Hey, if Amy is chompin' at da bit to be heard and to come to life, it don't much seem like a waste to me. Let her."

By the way, what exactly did you mean by this?

Stop worryin' about what others think and focus on what YOU think. This is YOUR idea, And it's authentic because it came from you, your mind and heart. And no, it's NOT a waste. I was asking you if YOU think it's a waste. Do you?

Well, I'm not too worried about what others think, I'm just trying to get help here. But to answer your question... I don't know. I always SUCKED at writing anyway. I don't know, I'm thinking it may be worth a shot, but not from me. I don't trust me.

Writing is merely thinkin' out loud....the more you write, the more you learn to express yer thoughts.....keeping a journal is one way to express oneself....and there are no "mistakes" even if ya go back and change what ya wrote it's not a "mistake" that ya wrote it in the first place, it just means yu found a more expressive way to say or express it.

Go . for . it.

Fearlessly.

K this here, is gonna be something that just popped into my head. I'm not even gonna edit it I'll just "let it out"

Imagine your lost

You don't know what to do

No one likes you

You see a book on the ground

So what do you do?

Read.

4 books

4 authors

1 message

But as you read

Deeper and deeper

You begin to realize

You are not alone

Hey there Christian Newbie.

This is a great idea, and a lot more realistic than people realize. I was almost 15 years old before I actually held a Bible in my hands. I had never read it before, not even "IN the beginning....."

I only read that because a person I had met actually believed in God. Prior to that, I answered the door to a Jehovah's Witness once, only six months before, and in five minutes had created my own concept of God ---God's there but he doesn't do much ---. I received the real Christ Jesus on my fifteenth birthday, after having cracked open a Good News Bible and reading the four gospels.
What was it that had picqued my interest? The whole idea of somebody dying in somebody else's place, I mean, seriously, to the non-knowledgeable mind it made me think that there was a little more to this God stuff than I had been led to believe (no pun intended).

Your story reminds me of one aspect of teen-age life, it's all about who likes you, and who hates you. The liking makes you likeable, the hating makes you hate-able, you treat others how they treat you. Loving others as you love yourself is pretty radical, after all to a non-saved mind experience tends to teach you otherwise.

Just a thought. Good stuff so far :)

I know this is a bit late, but this sounds like a great idea. Something that speaks from the heart and is as realistic as possible. Feel free to write some chapters and I can help you with revising and whatnot.

The concept might seem a bit clichéd or dull, but here's the thing: it's actually never been done before. All of the people who write Christian fiction tend to be the older sort, and their audience tends to be of a specific persuasion.

Your story can be different by being a bit more realistic--in this case, a bit grittier. I think it would be best to just imply certain stuff about Amy, but just give her a depressing, realistic backstory that young women her age in real life might be able to relate to.

Also, address the loneliness issue as best as you can. Discuss how God is that best friend for so many people, and how even though the Bible tends to assume a group as its audience, the individual can also find comfort in the many benefits of choosing to follow Jesus.

I have an idea how you can turn your story into a screenplay and send it off to Christian producers and directors and such. You could do a book if you want but if you see your writing as a movie as i saw when i read your story line you should probably learn how to screen write. I believe you have impressed me with your story. I am a writer as well and that is hard to do so be proud of yourself lol. Anyway message me and we will go through some ideas that I have for your screenplay. I think it'll make an AWESOME movie :) or book if that's what you want :) hope to hear from you soon :)
