Dear Mr. Branson:

It is my firm belief that the number one technological device to reduce atmospheric greenhouse gases has already been invented. It is the tree.

What is desperately needed at this time is not necessarily a new mechanical device but instead a paradigm shift in economic theory regarding monetary policy. We require a readily understandable explanation on how leaders in business and government can direct not only millions, but actually trillions of dollars of investment into combating global warming.


One of the most effective practical methods that could be put into place in the least amount of time would be dozens of the largest possible desalinization plants all along the Mediterranean and Red Seas. Huge quantities of fresh water could be dripped onto the Sinai and Sahara deserts and voila, well chosen species of newly planted fast growing trees could soon change the color of these relatively desolate areas, significantly reduce atmospheric CO2, positively affect local weather patterns and at the same time significantly counterbalance the increases in worldwide ocean levels as the polar ice caps melt. This will buy us some extra time and thus expand the “very brief window of opportunity to deal with climate change.”

So who is going to finance the construction of all these massive installations not to mention the planting of all those seedling trees?

Here is me dealing with this basic idea back in 2010.

After teaching English in Quito, Ecuador and seeing real poverty with my own eyes I felt that I had to get involved politically once I returned to Canada. In 2008 I quoted Mr. Carl Cantrell's brilliant theory on stabilization of the climate that fits so perfectly with Isaiah 35

Here is the question that I believe can be documented in such a way as to break young people all over the world out of a zombie like submission to Mr. Al Gore's idea of a Carbon Tax?

If average ocean levels rose by eight to ten cms (3 or 4 inches) could high tide...

... rise by one meter in the Isthmus of Chignecto in Nova Scotia, Canada?

This question is logical because the geography of Canada's Bay of Fundy produces the world's highest tides. In my part of Nova Scotia in Guysborough County there is very little funnelling of tidal waters......... so high tide is only about one to one point five meters above low tide.

In the eastern area of the Bay of Fundy high tide levels are up by ten to fifteen meters.

"Although I am no expert and did not even finish university I have concluded that
the 10 X to 15 X multiplier for high tides in the eastern area of the Bay of Fundy ............. could well continue to follow through if average ocean levels were to
rise a significant amount. There are two primary reasons:

1. The land form of the Bay of Fundy funnels high tide waters from a very wide
area of the Atlantic Ocean into a more and more narrow area.

2. The fact that the distance from Yarmouth to Truro, Nova Scotia is about 174 miles......
means that the waters of the previous high tide......... cannot sufficiently drain before the next high tide
begins to come in........... WHICH MEANS THAT THE NEW HIGH TIDE WATERS..... tend to pile on top of.....
the receding high tide waters! (It takes over four hours to drive from Truro to Yarmouth Nova Scotia..... and obvioulsy
the receding high tide waters cannot travel as fast as our cars so each new high tide for the Bay of Fundy..... adds to the previous high tide waters that were not able to fully drain from the Fundy)!

So....... a one foot worldwide average increase in ocean levels could well produce high tide levels that could be up by ten to fifteen feet along parts of the eastern area of the Bay of Fundy. " (August 10, 2018)

If we change the way we are, then we can change the future which they showed me. They showed me a view of the future, at the time of my experience, based upon how we in the United States were behaving at that time. It was a future in which a massive worldwide depression would occur. If we were to change our behavior, however, then the future would be different.



Asking them how it would be possible to change the course of many people, I observed that it was difficult, if not impossible, to change anything on Earth. I expressed the opinion that it was a hopeless task to try.



My friends explained, quite clearly, that all it takes to make a change was one person. One person, trying, and then because of that, another person changing for the better. They said that the only way to change the world was to begin with one person. One will become two, which will become three, and so on. That's the only way to affect a major change.

We tend to see the negative in this verse due to the fact that
this was stated during the time of the Tower of Babel but there is
a positive side to this as well.

"And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do." (Genesis 11)

We human can accomplish astonishing things if we can agree on the necessity for a
project and if we will communicate with each other to problem solve the difficulties that we run into as we attempt to accomplish the goal.

The massive melting of the ice on Greenland in the summer of 2019 that was basically equal to 2012 is a warning for us that we need to agree on the benefits of large scale desalination of ocean water for a number of reasons........ one of them is that it is theoretically possible for a similar amount of ocean water to be desalinated in the parts of the world where there is a lot of deserts.......... as is melting off Greenland and the world's glaciers.

We also have to be worried about rapid cracking and sliding of the ice on the West Antarctic Ice Sheet especially in January and February of each year.

My nation Canada produces less than two percent of global atmospheric carbon dioxide so whether we burden our taxpayers with a billion dollars in a carbon tax..... or ten billion dollars in a carbon tax.... will make essentially zero difference in whether or not there is a rise in ocean levels, (which could well be felt along the eastern Bay of Fundy and in Anchorage Alaska before it is really noticed in many other locations).

On the other hand every cubic meter of ocean water that is desalinated and added to the water table of a nation with lots of desert is very good news for the owners of real estate along the Bay of Fundy, in New Orleans, in Miami, in New York, in The Netherlands, in Bangladesh and on the Maldive Islands.

Actually... Algeria alone is desalinating over two million cubic meters daily in their fifteen major desalination plants.

I am advising that the mega project that the world should be discussing is what to do with the brine that is left after desalination so that we can deliberately turn the worlds deserts green as is predicted in Isaiah 35

The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing; the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon: they shall see the glory of Jehovah, the excellency of our God.

The most liberally claimed sea level rise numbers say 3.2 MILLIMETERS per yer. The average claim is closer to a millimeter and a half. The idea that the east coast of the US has risen 1 meter a year for 20 years is INSANE! I have pictures from 1935 of the Jersey Shore and there are homes in that picture that still exist today. And guess what? The distance between the home and the ocean is the same as it was in 1935. That isn't possible if your claim is correct, which, respectfully, it simply can't be. If the ocean had been rising that much in that short amount of time, Philadelphia would be oceanfront today and it not only isn't... it is just as far from being oceanfront than it was when I was a kid 50 years ago!

Al Gore is a quack and most of this global change stuff is made up lies being used for political gain and power. The truth is this.... the Earth's temps rise and fall over time in cycles, that is just what it does. Playing off the IGNORANCE of the public, politicians are using scare tactics to leverage our fear toward their political and financial gain.

Remember this Dennis... Al Gore has made 10's of MILLIONS off this thing. And if it were real... REALLY REAL.... then how in the world do they claim fossil fuels are killing us all and then fly on private jets all around the world to discuss the coming disaster? Why do these people buy ocean front homes if they are going to be consumed by the ocean soon? They are not consistent... they claim one thing with their mouth but their actions defy their words. What more do you need than that?

All good points but each July - September 1 the land based Greenland Ice pack seems to be especially vulnerable and.........

the West Antarctic Ice Sheet is vulnerable during January and February to rapid cracking and sliding of ice if it were hit with a tsunami...... or a volcano..... or an earthquake or..........................
something similar to whatever it was that happened over Greenland in the summers of 2012 and 2019????????

Every cubic meter of ocean water that is desalinated and added to the water table of California, Israel, Australia,Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan,Qatar or any other nation with lots of desert is good news for the owners of that real estate along the Bay of Fundy here in Canada.
