"All that call on the Name of Jesus, shall be saved".
"for as many as received Christ....God gave to them power to become the Sons of God".
"Faith is counted as righteousness".
Jesus said, " I give them eternal life". "and they shall never perish".

Eternal life is not temporary.
Eternal life is Jesus Himself.

There is something about believing!

Of course if you ask, perhaps that is done because you believe?

Also the word translated 'believe', as in 'who ever believes in Him shall be saved' (Jn 3:16) is translated as 'trusts' in other places in the Bible. So I guess we mean asking we a trust in Him.

And also there is something about His sheep hear his voice, so it appears the person asking, believing, and trusting in Jesus Christ also must be listening to His voice - for the answer, right?

So perhaps "ASK" is all that is needed, but could it be a person asks once in their life but never really believes that Jesus Christ really exists, or trusts that He is really there, so that they don't try to listen for His voice meaning they don't hear His voice?

He once talked to me about the difference between asking a person for directions and actually taking the time to sit down and get to know them. Jesus said He stands at the door and knocks and if anyone hears His voice and opens the door He will come in to them and eat with them and them with Him. Yet there is also something about Him telling people that He never knew them. You can ask a person driving by on the road to roll down their window and give you directions without ever actually coming to know that person. So "Ask" might be a little too simplistic and answer.
