Compassion

A Chinese province is debating the introduction of a law to FORCE people to help others in obvious distress. This comes after a two year old child was run over by two vehicles and left for dead on the street. People walking the street ignored her too UNTIL a worker cleaning garbage pulled her out of the road.

What the Chinese government must realise is that no government can LEGISLATE COMPASSION. Compassion comes when there is love. A person does not necessarily have to be a Christian to show love. What this incident showed was that people have become so calloused to the needs of others that they are unwilling to do what one would consider a natural thing to do. I am wondering if those who passed the little girl had a conscience.

My wife's Dad was attached to a Consulate from another Asian country so she grew up there...
...They are literally taught from an early age on that emotion is a sign of weakness.
