The Gospel of the Kingdom presents a number of reasons for baptism. Four of them are found in one chapter - Matthew 3.
1. There is the baptism of FIRE (Matthew 3:11. Fire speaks of the purging of JUDGEMENT, and this baptism is reserved for the FUTURE Tribulation period.
2. There is the baptism of REPENTANCE FOR THE FORGIVENESS of SINS (Matthew 3:6,11) This, coupled with faith, saved the believing JEW.
3. There is the baptism of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:13-17). This identified the Lord with ISRAEL. (John 1:31)
4. There is the baptism with the Holy Spirit BY the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:11) This took place at Pentecost (Acts 2:3,4; 11;16)
5. There were other baptisms or washings of water under the Law, as we read in Mark 7:3.4: "For the Pharisees and all the JEWS, except they WASH (greek NIPTO) their hands often, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders. And when they come to market, except they WASH (greek BAPTIZO), they eat not. And manyother things there be, which they have received to hold as the WASHING (greek baptizmos) of cups and pots and brazen vessels, and of tables.

The Gospel of the Grace of God presents ONLY ONE BAPTISM for this Dispensation. "One Lord, One faith, ONE BAPTISM" (Ephesians 4:5)
This baptism is very important for it is the work of the Holy Spirit baptizing every believer INTO the Body of Christ upon being saved. The Scriptures for this are 1 Cor. 12:13; Gal 3:27 and Romans 6:3.4.
This is the OPERATION OF GOD and is the ONLY baptism that God requires in this Dispensation.
When Paul, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, writes in 1 cor 1:17, "Christ sent me NOT to baptize but to preach the gospel..." it means that water baptism is COMPLETELY SEPARATED from Christianity.
Other reasons for baptism that Christians and unbeleivers alike advocate for this age are NON ESSENTIAL.
