We had some photo manipulations in the community sketchbook thread. However, I thought having its own thread would encourage more of them. They can be fun to put together.

You can combine multiple photos and use blending, painting, etc. to make them work together. It can be realistic like a matte painting, or a total transformation to make it more painterly.

Make sure stock images are legal for that purpose. Here are a couple stock sites you can check out.

If you are wanting to try out the process you can use Photoshop, or similar programs. Here are a couple of free ones:

My understanding is that Krita now has an Android version as well, but haven't tried it.

Not sure if I can track down the various image sources for this. The beam device was a photo of my tv antenna. The sky and other elements were taken from various stock images.
