This is just an idea to get people practicing their art. Submit a painting or drawing of a path, in any medium. The path can be through a city, forest, desert, room, whatever you chose. See what you come up with! Multiple submissions are fine. This is not a contest, just a fun activity.

Edit: The goal is to encourage people to do art currently, but you can also post previous pieces if they fit the theme. That way we can see more art!

New work:

My first take on the path theme, someone who is not sure what is ahead. The angle was hard on this one, with the head exaggerated because it is a close up view of the face, from above. But it was fun to try to carry though that look and lighting. This one took longer than my usual effort in Colors3d, about 2 hours and 34 minutes.

I applied a little level adjustment in Corel Photopaint.

Here is the colors3d video:

Great idea for a thread. Nice portrait. You managed to compose it effectively in a tight space. This is a local dune crossing in Bethany Beach Delaware. The bright point at the end of the path is a sort of death metaphor. It's 11x14 acrylic on canvas. The photo isn't great. It doesn't look so chalky in real life.

Nice rendering. And I like that you modified the lighting to get the point across. Do you ever re-touch the photos to get them to look more like they do in real life? And where do you keep all those paintings?

Previous work, done in Corel Photopaint years ago. It was titled "Bottom of the Food Chain". We often think about the large dinosaurs, but there were also the little ones who had to be careful or they were dinner! The notion here is that he hears something down the trail.
